.........[Frank] Rich [New York Times]pointed out that, once Ms. Sheehan could no longer be ignored, "the Swift Boating began," an allusion to the campaign during the latest presidential race to belittle Democratic Sen. John Kerry's service in Vietnam and the wounds he received there. Rich said such campaigns are launched "whenever the White House is confronted by a critic who challenges it on matters of war."
"True to form, the attack on Cindy Sheehan surfaced early on Fox News, where she was immediately labeled a 'crackpot' by Fred Barnes," Rich wrote. "The right-wing blogosphere quickly spread tales of her divorce, her angry Republican in-laws, her supposed political flip-flops, her incendiary sloganeering and her association with known ticket-stub-carrying attendees of Fahrenheit 9/11."
First meeting
Also on Fox News, Bill O'Reilly called Sheehan's behavior "treasonous" and accused her of changing her opinion on Bush, with whom she met a year ago. ...
......Huffington appeared on CNN's Reliable Sources on Sunday alongside O'Reilly, who said Sheehan was "being used by very far-left elements in this country, elements that not only object to the Iraq war, but object to basically our way of life here."
'A sideshow'
Terry Michael, writing in Thursday's Washington Times, said the Crawford protest "is the opposite of reasoned debate."
"It's a sideshow of verbal combatants yelling past each other," wrote Michael, founder of the Washington Center for Politics & Journalism. "For average citizens to be presented with meaningful alternatives to the current war policy, we must have legitimate, fully engaged discourse, with intelligent voices coming to competing conclusions."

Cindy surrounded by her closest friends.
Lets see she told a totally different story the first two times she talked to a news paper and we are being unfair.
Good question. I live around NYC and spoke to people before the election who were going to go to Canada. Now the are back to claiming the first election was stolen and won't give a straight answer when asked why they didn't leave. Must be that the Canadian medicine isn't all its cracked up to be.
Someone needs to rip that USMC shirt off his back. He does not deserve to wear it any longer!
When was the last time SHE ws relevant, much less had a hit record?
I don't believe the "grieving mother" skit anymore. My gut feeling about her initially was a spiteful woman saying to her now dead son "see, I told you so." "I told you you'd get killed in Iraq." It's an awful thing to say or think, I know, but she just keeps making me think it with everything she does. She's not honoring her son.
I went to a military school for high school. For some unexplained reason, Joan Baez was asked to sing at our school. She refused because we were "military".
Thus demonstrating a level of personal hygiene doubtless absent in the 'camp' across the road.
The talking heads here will be giddy with the opportunity to interview a national 'celebrity' such as the 'charismatic' Cindy. They'll probably use the tailgaters for the Sunday Steelers football game as a backdrop to create the impression that anyone actually gives a rat's butt about anything she has to say.
i'm not fan of mr. oreilly--the loofah incident did it for me--but he never called sindy treasonous and i don't understand why the msm keeps saying he did.
Not a peep about us "blue star" fathers.
Excellent picture, thanks for putting that up!
Notice the "fly-over country" dates. Time for a Red State roadside FReep?
Syracuse, NY: Tue, Sep. 13th
Oh boy!!!! I felt bad because I was unable to go to Crawford, but this will make up for it. Thanks for the heads-up Mo1. Anyone in CNY wanna "party"?
I agree- I tried to be civil at first and attribute her nasty, childish attitude to grief, but had the nagging sense that is was all about her and her assorted left-wing agendas. There is no doubt in my mind now.
No fair. There should be some kind of "zoo" thread where we can go and throw feces at the Marxists and poke them from between the bars with pointy sticks...
Yeah, that sounds like something that little ole Cindy would put together herself...right..
The least she could do is acknowledge that she isn't responsible for this anymore...and give others "credit", but I betcha it will continue to be "all about Cindy".
Since I wasn't "allowed" to go to Crawford today...I am going to refer to the schedule, and when they get closer to the Ft Worth area....I will get there!
Yeppers, MM, we need to have each and every bus Freeped!
There is a Haifa Street in Iraq (in Baghdad), but the only city of Haifa that I know of is in Israel. Is there a Haifa city in Iraq, or is this just another example of the AP's rigourous </s> fact-checking?
