CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - A deputy warden at the Ross Correctional Institution was suspended for five days last month after he mistakenly showed inmates a sexually explicit television show.
Andrea Dean, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, said Jeffrey Lisath meant to only record an HBO boxing match but unintentionally taped part of a program that followed it.

I'm sure the deputy warden had no idea the tape continued recording after the boxing match. Yeah right. Either this guy was trying to be buddies with the inmates, or he's incredibly incompetent.

Corrections Officer R.A. Adams wrote in an incident report that he was alerted to the movie by an inmate who asked him, "Why are they showing porn movies to all the rapists and child molesters in here?" Reasonable question.

I attended a Catholic high school. Every morning, we had a prayer, followed by the broadcast of "Channel One" a news program for high schools (does it still exist). Anyway, one of the AV kids replaced the Channel One tape with a porno tape one morning. We bursted out laughing, although I understand that Father Tom, in another home room class, ran to the TV, almost falling over himself to shut it off.
Needless to say, my classmate was suspended.

Long ago, on a military base in Germany, the Revelry tape was "mistakenly" replaced with a "Wipe-out" tape. It was "accidentally" played all over the base at 0500 one morning.

Stupid question, but why are the inmates watching anything but non-cable TV. If a private citizen doesn't get it for free, why should an inmate?
