Who Does Cindy Sheehan Hate?
FrontPage magazine ^ | 08/26/2005 | Michael Reagan

Posted on 08/26/2005 7:54:41 AM PDT by BJClinton

Sigmund Freud had a concept he called “projection, which has been defined as a defense where the ego deals with unacceptable impulses and/or terrifying anxieties by attributing them to someone in the external world.

In many ways I think that explains the behavior of the media’s current patron saint, Cindy Sheehan, whose hate rhetoric aimed at President Bush is really meant for someone else who she can’t admit even to herself is her real target. To do so would represent one of those “unacceptable impulses” Dr. Freud was talking about.

In this case it could well be that Cindy Sheehan is projecting her rage at George Bush when the one she really despises is her late son Casey, who died as a hero in Iraq, precisely because he did die a hero in Iraq.

The more I listen to Cindy Sheehan and consider her past actions and her past words, it occurs to me she has always been a liberal, she’s always been anti-military, and she’s always been anti-Republican. It appears that she raised Casey in such an environment, yet despite that what does he do? He not only joins the military engaged in a war she bitterly opposes, but to add insult to injury when his enlistment runs out, he re-enlists although he knew that by so doing it meant he would be sent to Iraq where a war his mother despises is being fought.

Think about that. What Casey did was to reject not by words but by deeds his mother’s most closely-held beliefs.

Then, to make matter worse in her eyes, this son volunteers to go on a dangerous mission even his superiors warned him against, and dies as a result. Casey Sheehan's sergeant asked for volunteers. Sheehan had just returned from Mass. After Sheehan volunteered once, the sergeant asked Sheehan again if he wanted to go on the mission. According to many reports (and according to his own mother) Casey responded, "Where my chief goes, I go."

He went, and it cost him his life. You can almost hear her saying to his spirit, “How dare you spurn me and turn your back on me? How dare you go join the military, and then how dare you volunteer to fight against the innocent Iraqi freedom fighters and get yourself killed?”

Casey Sheehan’s heroic action has embittered Cindy Sheehan. And her actions have embittered her family who bitterly resent her exploitation of her son’s heroic death in behalf of her political extremism. Here’s what they wrote to Matt Drudge:

“The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son’s good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our president, silently, with prayer and respect.”

Cindy Sheehan says she wants to ask the president, “Why did you kill my son?” She knows that George Bush did not kill her son. The butchers she supports with her far-out liberal activism killed Casey Sheehan and that activism is now resulting in the deaths of other young Americans because she is giving aid and comfort to our enemies and encouraging them to persist in their terrorism, giving them hope that if her views prevail the U.S. will lose its will and pull out. And so the fight goes on, and more Casey Sheehans die as a result.

And she says of her son, "He died for oil. He died to make your friends," Bush’s friends, "richer. He died to expand American imperialism in the Middle East."

How dare he?

Cindy Sheehan doesn’t need to talk to the president. A talk with a therapist would be more appropriate.

Oh, I'm aware she was way left long before Casey died. I'm just arguing that her grief was channeled into much stronger hate than she ever had before.

Contrast her comments about GW right after she met with him, and more recently.

I think the grief has fed the hate. Regardless, it must suck to be her. She must be miserable.

Regarding Cindy's "anger" to Casey . . . . . . Could it be that she DROVE Casey to enlist and she is now living (not comfortably) with that always in the back of her mind.

I would like to ask Cindy:

Describe and explain your relationship with Casey.
Since the US are terrorists in your mind, and the terrorists (in my mind) which you call freedom fighters killed Casey - - - how do you explain your logic of loving Casey the Terrorist killed by "people" you support and admire?

I declare you Queen of Moebus Logic!

(1)Shouldn't you be degrading Casey for being a terrorist(when I apply one-half of your logic) (opposed to the generic degrading you are doing to his honorable service to his country and free peoples of the world)?

(2)Who is paying your bills right now?

(3)Have you spoken with anyone about a "book or movie" deal?

(4)Has anyone spoken to you regarding a book or movie deal?

(5)Is anyone - anywhere spoken to anyone about a book or movie deal? (you have to ask all three questions otherwise she can cop out)

(6)Just like you demand of President Bush (to you), I want to know when you are going to pull out of Crawford. I need to have a specific time table; routes and methods of retreat; infrastructure and support mechanics and financial accounting for all your efforts.

I demand to be able to meet with you (and I want multiple photo ops) and ask these questions. I do not care how important you are or what your time schedule is, or where you are.

(7)At the same time I want to schedule a follow-up about a year from now in case I change my mind.

(8) Is Camp Casey based on your lie that President GW Bush killed Casey?
I patiently await your response.

Sorry if this post is convoluted - - I was trying out Cindy's Fourth Dimension Logic.

Those who have no saving relationship with Jesus Christ

Have No Hope of seeing their loved ones departed from them in death...

Deep Bitterness..emotional distress and searching for those to blame for robbing them of their loved ones is one of the traps waiting for humans who lack saving faith

The left has found once such unfortunate soul to exploit who is also eager to be exploited..

Cindy also reacts to the guilt she feels..most likely unknowingly...for having abdicated her responsiblity for bringing her son to Christ..as did her husband who she also most likely blames...

On the day we are judged...God will hold parents accountable for their children

Cindy's guilt is driving her away from God and Jesus instead of toward the only one who can absolve her of guilt and heal her wounds...

She is almost like a wounded animal who lashes out and bites the one hand reaching out to heal her...

Her rebellion against God...translates into rebellion against all patriachal authority...Her country, her president, her husband, and most likely her own dad...

The American left...has this same problem...with male authority and patriotism

imo

If you haven't read this article from World Net Daily, be sure to check this out:

Casey in heaven 'calls Bush idiot'

I thought it was satire at first, but then checked out the transcript and audio file of Cindy's recent speech (links in #268). To my amazement, these whacko statements are indeed Cindy's very own words.

(This is a one time only ping list)

I certainly agree with that! At first, I felt compassion, sympathy for her on the loss of her son. Then I gradually began to realize that she has turned his coffin into a soapbox from which to calumniate President Bush and America, and by so doing puts our courageous and honorable military service members -- and We the People -- at further risk. This is contemptible, IMHO FWIW.

I think Michael Reagan's analysis is spot-on. Thank you so much for the ping, xzins.

This is a very unhealthy woman stuck in a very toxic grieving process that seems to be festering.

All this talk about the grieving process is alot of self indulgent bunk. I think she needs a good sound smack across the head and being told to grow up and get on with her life. After all, what is life if it's not about losing loved ones along the way?
