The Bush White House and its right wing allies are responding to Cindy Sheehan and the military families’ vigil in Central Texas in the same way that they always respond to bad news –by unleashing personal attacks and smears against her.

This White House never wants an open public discussion, and it certainly never wants to be told that it is wrong. It always tries to change the message by attacking the messenger.

They did it with former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill when he wrote a book that suggested that the White House used 9/11 as an excuse to invade Iraq.

They did it when Richard Clarke revealed that the White House ignored warnings about Bin Laden.

They did it in a most despicable way, as everybody now knows, when they revealed my wife’s identity as a CIA employee because they were unhappy when I spoke the truth and told the American people that President Bush’s claim was false concerning Niger’s giving uranium to Iraq, part of the trumped up rationale for our invasion.

So no one should be surprised that when these mothers and families who have lost loved ones in Iraq step up to question the President, the White House responds not with the respect due them, but with hateful attacks and smears. But enough is enough. Ours is a government of the people, by the people and for the people; and the people in the name of Cindy Sheehan are right in demanding accountability for the tragedy foisted upon our great nation by this administration. To smear her rather than hear her is un-American and undemocratic.

There have to be platoons of people with first and second-hand knowledge of the intricacies behind the scenes .. where are they? Where's she? What financed her "move to Paris???"

Unless he got too rusty, he'd already proven his mettle once before, and surely had access to other like rogue elements:

Marceca, a civilian Army investigator, was involved in gathering confidential FBI background files in 1993 and 1994 on hundreds of officials, including many prominent Republicans, who worked in the Bush and Reagan administrations.

The White House has said it was a bureaucratic blunder and not motivated by malicious intent, but congressional Republicans are spearheading an inquiry into how the files were obtained and how or if the information was used by the White House.

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), who chairs the judiciary committee, said afterward Marceca refused to answer questions or produce documents "in an unconditional manner."

Hatch suggested Marcea is the White House's fall guy in the files mess. "It's apparent that he's the official dumpee in this matter," Hatch told the Associated Press."

You have to know the brigades of enablers and lawyers were scrambling to create new strategies .. find loopholes ... write new laws ..AND a battalion of protectors, enforcers and support players ARE and WERE part and parcel of their MOB tactics ..EVEN TODAY .. were they called before the 9/11 Commission? This MOB destroyed dozens and dozens of people's lives with abandon if they didn't "play ball" with them .. why would they stop at something so trifling as national security to achieve their demented agenda?

The tranquilizers and mood altering drugs these people had to have been taking would probably choke a herd of elephants .. how do you keep everything straight on the stage without a brigade supporting you, a little blackmail, new laws, skirting laws that couldn't be be changed, a lot of cash, and a DEMONIC PUPPETMASTER OR TWO?

FORMER U.S. OFFICIAL CHOSEN TO HEAD WORLD POLICE

A former U.S. law enforcement official on Friday was chosen as the lead candidate to head Interpol, the global law enforcement organization.

Ron Noble, former Treasury undersecretary for enforcement, was named during an executive session at Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France.

Noble, 42, best known as the chief investigator of the failed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms raid on the Branch Davidian compound outside Waco, Texas, is the only person the United States has ever nominated to head Interpol in the 75-year history of the organization.

Attorney General Janet Reno personally picked Noble for the position.

The move marks a shift in U.S. policy, and comes as American's celebrate Independence Day.

Until recently, American federal law enforcement agencies have not played an active role in Interpol.

Founded in 1923, the International Criminal Police Organization [Interpol], using the resources of law enforcement agencies in 177 member countries, acts as a global clearinghouse for information on crime threats.

The organization cannot make arrests, but it does issue "red notices." Those notices are honored by 135 countries that arrest suspects solely on the basis of a "red notice" with no further information. The USA, however, does not currently honor Interpol's red notices.

"Interpol is a great law enforcement organization, but at the turn of the century, with technology taking off by leaps and bounds, it is at a crossroads," Noble told USA TODAY in a recent interview.

"You can move from country to country in hours, and from a communications and business perspective, you can move at the speed of light with the advent of the Internet. Interpol is the one organization that can help in getting the right people together and coordinating and fighting crime in those areas."
