The You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy Tour and Caravan to Crawford begins this morning in San Francisco at 9:30 a.m. local time with a press conference outside the studios of Melanie Morgan's home base, KSFO.

The caravan will go south through California with stops at cities including Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles and San Diego before heading to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Stops in those states are also planned.

Folks who are going on the carvan and those seeking to share rides are encouraged to check in and coordinate here. (Notice: FR and MAF are not responsible for anything that happens as a result of a ride share arrangment between private parties.)

You can join the caravan for the long haul to Crawford, or for a local stretch.

Also, you are invited to come to the outdoor press conferences along the way to show your support. The lefties are organizing counter-demonstrations for the press conferences, so a good showing on our part would be a big help.

The itinerary is still being set, but today's is posted to KSFO's website (all times local):

8:00am Deborah Johns on the KSFO Morning Show - LIVE (in studio)

9:30am Press Conference in front of KSFO Studios. 900 Front Street - San Francisco, CA

10:00am - 12:00 Noon En Route to Sacramento [Caravan proceeds along Interstate 80 heading East]

12:20pm Caravan arrives in Sacramento at the parking lot of KFBK 1530 Studios - 1440 Ethan Way, Sacramento, CA.

1:05pm Deborah Johns on live with Mark Williams- KFBK 1530 Sacramento [Williams is filling in for Tom Sullivan Show).

2:00pm Caravan departs from KFBK Studios - en route to Fresno, California [Caravan will be heading Southbound on Interstate 5]

6:20pm Caravan scheduled to arrive in Fresno. [Location of Fresno arrival to be announced shortly.]

Hope we get a good crowd at the Fresno Convention Center. We'll be there to meet them and will caravan with them down as far as Visalia. Wish we could go all the way to Crawford.

Oh cool, A call in to Barks show. I have been listening to here when I can and I really enjoy her. I missed jazz's show and was hoping KMJ would get another good local host.

99 really is a much better route from Sacto to Fresno, if what your looking for is high visibility. You would also have to get on 99 anyway at some point, either crosstown 4 in Stockton, or 120 to Manteca. Any further south on 5 and you loose all visibility, plus the distance you would have to go eastbound to catch 99.

I don't have much time, as we are being bombarded with phone calls and emails from supporters, the national news media and military families about the "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy" Tour.

Friends - this movement to tell the story of military families and their supporters who DO stand by our troops AND their mission is growing exponentially.

I've not seen such a response - and so much excitement - in any other grassroots effort I've been involved in.

We are working on the schedules for Tuesday and Wednesday stops for the caravan.

PLEASE - if you are anywhere near where our caravan will be we NEED you to make plans to meet us at the caravan stops... and if possible join the caravan for part of the way.

And again - if you can make a contribution, please do so. You cannot imagine our costs in vehicles, gas, lodging, sound systems, porta potties for the rally on August 27th, and our ad campaign to get the word out.

Sorry, but I have a BSA meeting tonight. I have promised that I will teach a component of the First Aid merit badge to some of the scouts.

I am confused as to their schedule. Are they leaving Fresno tonight or tomorrow morning. If they are leaving tomorrow morning I will be able to see them off if it is after 8 AM.

The caravan is driving to Bakersfield tonight. Originally they had planned to stop overnight. I think with all the stops along the route, the extra 100 miles tonight will make a big difference.

If you know anyone who can come to the convention center at 6:20, please let them know about this event. Are there any boy scouts that would like to come out and show their support? Do you have any contact with the local reserve unit?

Oh, I would give my right arm to be able to come to Texas for this rally! But, unfortunately we can only caravan with them between Fresno and home (Tulare). We will give Jim and Syncro a good send off as they head out your way.
