Goldie isn't at the top of the Hollywood A-List anymore, but she's done some decent work in her career.
Her religion might be a decent example of what passes for religiosity in Hollywood nowadays.
She sounds a little confused and scatter-brained.
Goldie Hawn is one of the more decent female stars in Hollywierd. She has it in her contract "No Nudity" unlike other stars. Not many female Movie stars will have that in their contract!
She blew her credibility with me right there.
If she can't recognize the difference in these faiths in terms of "outcomes", she may as well be a Scientologist. That "religion" at least makes no bones about the fact that it's all about self actualization and a fulfilling temporal experience.
I'm just curious, but the 'suburbs of MAryland'? Would those be Pennsylvania, Delaware, or Virginia? Don't want to be a pedant, but can't writers wite anymore????
Don't want to be a pedant, but can't writers wite anymore????
"Appears to me to be a lot of feel-good pseudo-psycho ramblings."
Do you feel she should have the same beliefs as you?
I won't blame this entirely on the reporter. Goldie may have said this herself. The 'Maryland suburbs' is the common name used by those in the DC area for the suburbs outside of DC. It differentiates them from the VA suburbs. I think Goldie is from Takoma Park, MD.
I would use this term myself if talking w/folks who knew the DC area. It's not too helpful if people are from other parts of the country, tho.
Shouldn't a picture of Kurt (or 10) be required in this thread????

His "specialness" was that he was God incarnate. Good grief, he was either who he claimed to be or he was, paraphrasing C.S. Lewis, on the same level as a man who claimed to be a poached egg. Just one fact alone--that he took for himself the ability to forgive sins committed by one man against another--tells you he was either who he said he was or a nut. And a nut is not a wise man or a good teacher.
I hope she finds the reality of the Savior one of these days.
I would say that is more of a moot point at this stage.
Or failing that, Prozac.
I don't agree with her spiritual musings, but she seems as if she has put thought into her spiritual life, which is good.
She's a little bit exhibitionistic about her personal life, though. I'm always with Bill O'Reilly on this. What a person does sexually is their personal business. I guess talking like this par for the course if you are an actor.
Bill Clinton talks a lot about personal stuff too. Maybe that is why he gets along so well with Hollywood.
To "Buddhist, Jew, Jesus Freak" you can also add "Airhead."
She is very bright. It was surprising to learn that about her after her performance on Laugh-In. Her work since then is impressive in quantity and quality.
Logical fallacy of false dilemma. Third option: those who wrote of him long after his death ascribed to him things he did not say or do.
Goldie was raised the Bethesda/Chevy Chase, my old stomping grounds.....
My wife used to sell Goldie make-up when she was a "Clinique" girl at Bloomingdales in the early '70's....Goldie would only see her and would set an appointment....She would come in with two body-guards/escourts and spend an hour with my wife and several hundred dollars in make-up, etc...
My wife is not at all impressed by Hollywood types (in fact - she is usually annoyed by them) but she always found Goldie charming and sweet.....
