Abbas: Gaza pullout due to "Palestinian Sacrifices."
OK, ok - sheesh, give a guy a break.
Right up there with "Are you all watching this?" and "Wow! I can't believe what just happened!"
You're kidding, right? The Bush Administration was unhappy about Sharon unilaterally pulling out of Gaza. It upset "the peace process," don'tcha know? Israel wasn't supposed to do anything regarding land or settlements until it reached a "global solution" with the Palis - hopefully brokered by the U.S. - which of course, is impossible because Israel is not giving up Jerusalem, ever. Sharon changed the equation of the never-ending "peace process" by building the wall and by getting the settlers out of Gaza. He is done negotiating with terrorists. Who knows what he is going to do next, but he isn't taking orders from George Bush, that's for sure.
"Unnngh!"
ROFLMAO!
AND! Let's C how "You guys paddle your OWN canoe!
Mothers' reminiscing!
Two Arab mothers are sitting in the cafe chatting over a pint of
goat's milk.
The older of the mothers pulls her bag out and starts flipping
through pictures and they start reminiscing.
"This is my oldest son Mohammed. He's 24 years old now"
"Yes, I remember him as a baby" says the other mother cheerfully.
"He's a martyr now though" mum confides.
"Oh so sad dear" says the other.
"And this is my second son Kalid. He's 21"
"Oh, I remember him," says the other happily, "he had such curly
hair when he was born".
"He's a martyr too " says mum quietly.
"Oh gracious me ...." says the other.
"And this is my third son. My baby. My beautiful Ahmed. He's 18",
she whispers.
"Yes" says the friend enthusiastically, "I remember when he first
started school".
"He's a martyr also," says mum, with tears in her eyes.
After a pause and a deep sigh, the second Arab mother looks
wistfully at the photographs and says... "They blow up so fast, don't they?"
Does it really matter?
Here's the scenario:
They attack.
Israel calls for early elections.
Netanyahu is elected with the moral high ground, popular support, and US agreement to defend Israel.
Smackdown.
I would say it was all worthwhile if they turned the Gaza strip into a luxury resort employing "Palestinians" and made a boatload of money. Instaead, it's probably going to turn into yet another hellhole.
If Israel needs the U.S. to help defend itself against Palestinians in Gaza, then it's not even a viable nation and ought to vanish tomorrow.

Nuff said...
Israel does not need the US to defend itself against Palestinians. Not hardly.
Israel needs the US to stand on its side so that Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Lybia, etc., do not get any ideas.
The Palestinians are their own worst enemy.
The biggest threat to Israel's existence is not Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Palestinian terrorists, etc. -- it's internal conflict between its own various political and religious factions.
