Sheehan's "Terri Schiavo" rant:

Shocking to read, actually.

Anonymous sources quoted by the New York Times and the Washington Post aren't going to do it for me. In the first case, I simply don't believe it. In other words, the Times and the Post lie about the Bush administration to push their agendas, just like Dan Rather and CBS was caught red-handed doing.

Secondly, given all his speeches and various statements, neither of those two quotes fit President Bush's thinking on Iraq at all. He had made his case time and time again, and the American people endorsed the President's view on Iraq (and not some unnamed "senior" official) last year on November 2nd.

You lost, America won, get over it, i.e, MOVEON!

Your position lost on November 2nd last year. President Bush was relected. I support him, agree with him on Iraq for all the reasons he stated, which directly addressed the concerns you've raised. He put his truth against yours on November 2nd and the American people chose his. It's called democracy and that's how it works.

Please do understand we've all heard your argument and seriously disagree. We too have thought it through and come to an opposite conclusion.

"So what were the hypocrites in DC doing while much of the country was working for peace…either at rallies, marches, or candlelight vigils?" Cindy Sheehan

Actually no Cindy, the ones "working" for peace are the very ones you classify as having been robbed at gun point from their cradles, or their Mama's breast and forced to go to a terror torn country. The very ones you dishonor every time you open your mouth or stage one of your mocking and humiliating rallies. Grow up, you have been a mother for long enough for your son to have defied your control and manipulation, and died as a hero, It's high time you acted like one. How about honoring HIM for a change, instead of your own face on a tv screen, or the sound of your own voice.

My guess is, when he was young, if his sports team lost a game, that was all about you too.

I'm in Florida so I won't be able to make the caravan.

I had this idea....what if some police volunteered to give the Caravan an escort so they could race ahead ?!!

Sheehan doesn't realize, as many Americans don't, that her son died in Iraq so she can say what she wants too, and to whom she wants. Her son died as did son's in all wars did, fighting for the freedoms that only Americans have. What if we had of said in WW2 that our exit strategy was too stop fighting on Dec 7 1943? What would be the national language?

The signers of the Declaration of Independence's signers paid a great price for their efforts. What if they had chose too quit half way without finishing? If we don't learn from history we are doomed to repeat it. So let us remember we are not fighting for today, but for when our children and grand children have this same debate about why Americans are dieing for someones freedoms

Protestors stay put, Bush supporters move in

Updated: Aug 19, 2005 4:51pm
Despite an offer from a local rancher to relocate Camp Casey, anti-war protest are staying put and President Bush got a little support of his own Friday.

More than 100 people converged on Crawford to support the Commander-In-Chief. They came to Crawford from all over the country, marching with a message for the president: "Cindy Sheehan doesn't speak for all of us," said Bush supporter Debi Bohannon.

Eve Tidwell says, "We have no reason to drop the morale of those troops over there by having someone on the news over and over and over again saying her son died for nothing."

Meanwhile, at Camp Casey, protestors marched, praying for the president, our soldiers and humanity. Some families told stories of their soldiers who died in action. Friday was supposed to be moving day for them, but organizers say a lack of space and media scrutiny ended plans to move to a spot five miles down the road. Instead, they'll use both sites.

Ann Wright says, "We are not moving anywhere. Our demands are not moved, our location is not moved."

That's until August 31st, when the president heads back to Washington.

Cindy Sheehan left Crawford Thursday after her mother suffered a stroke. There's no word on her mother's condition or if Sheehan will return to Crawford before the end of the month.

"I agree with you 100%...Blue Bell would kick their ass any hot day here! Just thought it kind of strange that the commercial is just running in OUR area!!"

It is strange. Guess they are trying to drum up local 'anti' support to counter the 'pro' people who are coming from all parts of the country. But they won't get their money's worth, this is Bush country, so far anyway.

Few Americans realize or remember that they live in the greatest country in the world and, as you said, we have paid a very dear price for our freedom.

I love those unnamed "senior advisors."

Nevermind that they are invariably anti-American Democrats that we have to work with.

You are most correct. Here is a WWII comic to show that this anti-war sentiment was just as prevelant in that time, as it was now. Shoot, the players don't even change the words, just the names! The media seems to want the public to think that all other wars, with the exception of Vietnam, were "popular"...anyone who actually cracks a history book knows that WWI and WWII were also protested--and the Presidents at the time blamed. The only difference was that the media did not exalt those who did the protesting.
