What does the US Constitution have to do with what can, and cannot, be said on a PRIVATELY OWNED forum?

Who said it did?

Ok.

Here are some freedoms that have been infringed by the "patriot" act.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH: If a librarian or bookseller tells the individual who is under investigation that he or she is in fact under investigation, that employee can be prosecuted for doing so under the patriot act.

SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Individuals may be held indefinitely without a trial.

UNREASONABLE SEARCHES: Probable cause has been removed by the patriot act so that the government can conduct searches. There is still a judge and warrant involved, but probable cause is not required, and the judge is compelled to issue the warrant if the federal government meets a minimal set of requirements. Basically, it's an extension of the foriegn intelligence investigation protocol, except now it can be used on Americans.

Those are just a few. I see you've been zotted, so I suspect you won't need any more.

Waited a whole week to post this screed?

He's made one other post, about coddling and educating criminals. Add to that, he posts this screed (can a one line question really be called a screed?) and then disappears. If he WASN'T a troll, and really was interested in the responses, he would have stuck around and engaged in debate, or told us what freedoms he thought were lost due to the Patriot Act. But he didn't, because he is.

And for what it's worth, I haven't lost any rights or freedoms as a result of the Patriot Act. There are things in it that concern me, but nothing that has affected me yet.

I can tell you the most important one we lost in all the Leftist-controlled states: the right to keep and bear arms.

What part of "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" don't those idiot anti-liberty chimps understand?

Actually nothing. Your writings mean didly squat to me. Your post was just the last in line and I posted.

So continuity and coherence mean as much to you as my writings do, eh?
;O)

Article 4 - "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but, upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Sneak and Peek under the Patriot Act literally voids the protections found in Article 4 of the US Constitution.

Seizing library records of the books an American may have checked out at the local library, without the knowledge of the person(s), clearly violates the protections in Article 4.

Where do you want me to stop?

Quote: Ever pause to consider that blind opposition to everything because a "Government" say it is every bit as intellectually indefensible as blind acceptance of the same?

LOL. In the words of RR we need to "trust but verify" EVERYTHING the uS gov't does today. I think I would rather be safe and be on the side of blind opposition rather than blind acceptance with the gov't today.

I was severely oppressed by this legislation while refinancing our home. Actually had to fill out a form stating that the money would not be used to fund terrorism.
/sarcasm off
I really don't get all the whining about this.>>>>>>

Yes, and I am sure that all those who intended to fund terrorism reported their intentions, right?

See my new tagline inspired by you post.

I think history would offer much more support for "blind opposition".

Yep, especially with the gov't involved with every detailed part of our lives today.

Dude....correct me if I'm wrong....but the Patriot Act does NOT trample on the rights of U.S. citizens...but on the non-rights of non U.S. citizens....correct me if I'm wrong...
