9/11 Panel Member Faults Clinton Inaction

WASHINGTON - A Sept. 11 commission Democrat disagreed Friday with President Clinton's assessment there wasn't enough intelligence linking al-Qaida to a deadly attack on a Navy ship to justify an attack on the terrorist organization.

Former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey said he believes Clinton should have launched a military strike against al-Qaida following the October 2000 attack on the USS Cole that killed 17 sailors.

"I think he did have enough proof to take action," Kerrey said on ABC's "Good Morning America.

Maybe if Bubba had bothered to go out and talk to his old buddy, the original terrorist Yasser Arafat, instead of keeping him waiting in the Rose Garden while he diddled an intern in the Oval Office, Ol' Yasser might have come up with some solid information on his terrorist buddies in Al Qaeda...

Maybe not, though. Yasser always did want us dead.

One of the many satisfactions of the George W. Bush Presidency is that Yasser Arafat died without every coming back to the United States for one last tour of pomp and circumstance.

Think about it this. In this scenario, he knows of Al-Qaida, who they are and that they are planing a large scale terrorist attack on US soil. This knowledge if released to law enforcement could prevent 9/11 from materializing.

But, he didn't win the election of 2000.

If he or anyone let the FBI and CIA know, not only would questions be raised on why wasn't this information released when first known, but the Republicans and the Bush Administration get the credit. The credit that Al-Gore was set up to have when the Klintoon lawyers ordered the withholding of that information. Information to be withheld until the "appropriate time".

Al-Gore lost the election. He didn't turn into a train wreck because he lost an election. He's a professional politician, lost election = drop in the bucket. He went south because of what he knew might happen if everyone kept silent. To say anything implicates them in putting American lives at risk for political gain. The plan changed and everyone kept silent. 9/11 happened as a result of that silence.
