Clinton: I Would Have Attacked Bin Laden

Ex-president Bill Clinton now says he would have taken out Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks – if only the FBI and CIA had been able to prove the al-Qaida mastermind was behind the attack on the U.S.S. Cole.

"I desperately wish that I had been president when the FBI and CIA finally confirmed, officially, that bin Laden was responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole," Clinton tells New York magazine this week. "Then we could have launched an attack on Afghanistan early."

Military intelligence proved Atta's connection 1 year prior to 9/11. The FBI was not notified of this because of Gorelick's DOJ policy.

Had the military developed a lead on Bin-Laden they would have been forbidden from sharing that info with domestic LEO agencies.

Thanks. I was up to date about that. My question is why Gorelick issued such a memo considering many previous attacks on the US and our citizens? Doesn't make any sense as to the overall concern for the welfare of US interests and ALL Americans to make that particular policy change. Gorelick did not issue the memo on her own and Reno didn't tell her, I bet. It came from Slick or Hildabeast directly or by someone on the Joint Chiefs.

I heard Savage (yes, he is a nut sometimes) comment on this. His opinion was that Clinton neutered the DOJ from day one by firing all the US district attorneys. Putting Reno in charge of the DOJ further neutered it's abilities and allowed Clinton to do as he pleased regarding it's use (Waco,Elian,OKC bombing).

OTOH, The US military was basically the same military that Reagan rehabilitated, was top notch and couldn't be neutered as quickly as the DOJ and FBI. The "wall" was a way to limit their power domestically and was an ego trip for Gorelick's narcissism.

I'm waiting for the story to finally come out confirming that, not only did we have intelligence concerning Mohammed Atta and his bunch, and their intentions, but that the Clinton Administration vetoed any efforts to thwart them!
