Clinton: I Would Have Attacked Bin Laden
NewsMax ^ | 8/15/05 | NewsMax

Ex-president Bill Clinton now says he would have taken out Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks – if only the FBI and CIA had been able to prove the al-Qaida mastermind was behind the attack on the U.S.S. Cole.

"I desperately wish that I had been president when the FBI and CIA finally confirmed, officially, that bin Laden was responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole," Clinton tells New York magazine this week. "Then we could have launched an attack on Afghanistan early."

"I don’t know if it would have prevented 9/11," he added. "But it certainly would have complicated it.”

Despite his failure to launch such an attack, Clinton said he saw the danger posed by bin Laden much more clearly than did President Bush.

"I always thought that bin Laden was a bigger threat than the Bush administration did," he told New York magazine.

"Um...hm. Not interested in defending x42, butI am interested in historical accuracy. The confirmation came January 27, 2001, according to the sources I found. Assuming that's correct, Clinton wasn't President any more.

SW"

True, however, note what is missing from old bj, "military intel", appears they knew and could not tell.

You know that this story will be picked up by every nightly news program as proof that W is inept and 911 was all his fault. This is so so so sad.

He did attack Bin Laden, with a billion dollars worth of cruise missiles at an Al Qaeda training camp and an aspirin factory in Sudan, the exact same moment Lewinsky was testifying in front of a Grand Jury whether Clinton lied.

And the "justification" for the attack in Sudan was a single soil sample that contained Empta - which can occur in soil from the breakdown of the herbicide Round-Up. So he'll unleash the dogs of war on flimsy evidence when it suits his agenda. Which means getting bin Laden didn't suit his agenda.

"Iraqi involvement claim in the OKC bombing" It's even bigger than that:

Ramzi Yousef (1993 WTC) and Terry Nichols (OKC) crossed paths in the Phillipines. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (9/11)was Yousef's uncle. It is interesting to note that Yousef entered the United States on an Iraqi passport and had been known among the New York fundamentalists as "Rashid, the Iraqi". Another name that could be thrown into the mix is Abdul Rahman Yasin, a U.S. citizen who moved to Iraq in the 1960's and returned to the U.S. in 1992. After the 1993 WTC bombing, Yasin fled to Iraq and was given monthly salary and housing by Saddam Hussein's regime.

This article is talking about the Cole in 2000, not the embassies. He launched on the camel and tent because of the embassies......well, that and to get his perjury off the front page.

That just goes to show that if President Bush made a mistake, it was in keeping the Clintonista anti-terror team around.

Why am I tempted to put on my tin-foil hat and say that the Clintonistas had an inkling while S(l)ick Willie was still in office that 9/11 was going to happen on President Bush's watch and kept silent in the hope that we'd do what ths Spaniards did after 3/11?

Clinton: I Would Have Attacked Bin Laden

He did. He hit an empty tent, declared victory, and moved on!

I forgot to include one link...if you really want to get your BP up...check out this statement:

"Relaxing on Air Force One after the 1996 elections, Bill Clinton told a pool of reporters that he owed his political revival to the Oklahoma Bombing. He was in a reflective mood, looking back at the ups and downs of his turbulent presidency. As so often, his thoughts lingered on those first painful months after the Republicans captured both Houses of Congress for the first time in almost two generations. It had been a stinging rebuke for the White House. But then that bomb went off." The Secret Life of Bill Clinton - Ambrose Evans-Pritchard - Page 3.

Old FR Thread

It's a very informative link on OKC.

The only way that BJ would do something that resulted in bin Laden's death is if OBL was preparing to testify about BJ.

Can't you just picture him back then, in the summer of 2000, sitting up in bed at night wishing he didn't have to move out of the White House?

Oh yes, I can picture him right now thinking he ought to have been President for life. I imagine when he's older he'll be gripping White House stationery everywhere he goes, and mumbling about executive orders.
