I'm beginning to wonder how enmeshed Tom Kean is/was in the political and corrupt nightmare that is New Jersey politics.

Who knows how many staffers on the Republican side were equally committed to a whitewash job? Not because they're in cahoots with corrupt Dems, but because they are all creatures of Washington politics and know that whistleblowers never become Senators, Reps, or Presidents.

MacEachin's university major was economics, but he also showed great interest in philosophy. His Agency career--like Gates'--included an extended assignment to a policymaking office. He came away from this experience with new insights on what constitutes "value-added" intelligence usable by policymakers. Subsequently, as CIA's senior manager on arms control issues, he dealt regularly with a cadre of tough-minded policy officials who let him know in blunt terms what worked as effective policy support and what did not.
By the time MacEachin became DDI in 1993, Gates's policy of DDI front-office pre-publication review of nearly all DI analytical studies had been discontinued. MacEachin took a different approach; he read--mostly on weekends--and reflected on numerous already-published DI analytical papers. He did not like what he found. In his words, roughly a third of the papers meant to assist the policymaking process had no discernible argumentation to bolster the credibility of intelligence judgments, and another third suffered from flawed argumentation. This experience, along with pressures on CIA for better analytic performance in the wake of alleged "intelligence failures" concerning Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, prompted his decision to launch a major new effort to raise analytical standards.

longtermmemmory is right..we DO need a flowchart...detailed...pages if necessary....the connections to ..oh gag me...tax free so called non-partisan groups (that all seem to be hillary knee padders) is AMAZING!

Myself...I am very interested in learning if staffer Elinore Hartz, widow of WTC travesty, was ever informed of Able Danger's findings. Out of all the staffers for the commission, SHE is the one whose antenne should have gone BONKERS at Able Danger's info on ATTA ad the cell.

Most of these staffers are well acquainted with the law and have connections to the various agencies involved...she does not.

I would love to know if all information requested by the staffers was first vetted by a certain group from within the staff...their names...and IF there is an archive of the materials they did NOT SHARE with the 9-11 commission members.

You may well be correct, but they might well be found in contempt of Congress, for whatever that is worth.

Later, they will likely be in contempt of Court, if they don't "refresh" their memories and provide any requested documentation as well. (In which case they can potentially be found to be "obstructing justice" or the like.)
