P.S. Under little-known but established US Supreme Court-sanctioned precedent, Jamie Gorelick, as a former Federal bureaucrat, can & should be sued civilly for gross dereliction of duty, for contributory negligence and culpability in 3,000 deaths (& counting), and for gross negligence as the DOJ "Wall of Separation" memo author, which greatly & unconscionably expanded the "letter of the law" to, in effect, protect spies and terrorists.

This in turn may lead to other higher up Clinton Administration officials being revealed as complicit or culpable under discovery, deposition and courtroom testimony. Certainly the infamous Gorelick DOJ memo was consistent with the highly cautious and overly legalistic approach of the Clinton Administration (& The Clinton White House) toward National Security, espionage, and terrorism issues.

Geoff Brown. Research assistant. Formerly with the Henry L. Stimson Center's Future of Peace Operations Project.

I'm assuming he's one of the Dem staffers, since he was with the Stimson Center(of course, I know what assuming gets me. :-)) The project working with UN. Will research more later to see if I can find out whose staff on the 9/11 Commission. He was with the Peace Operations Project between '02-'03(don't know how long before or after), and was mentioned as having helped edit a research piece on weaponization of space. The Stimson Center was founded in '89 by Blechman and Krepon. Krepon has been critical of Rumsfeld's space weaponization idea. He and Blechman have associations with Carter administration. Blechman was with Brookings Institute. Krepon with Dem. 6th District Washington State Representative Norm Dicks.

Interesting that the third person mentioned there, Valerie Caproni, is now the General Counsel (top lawyer) for the FBI and was in charge of the FBI's investigation of TWA 800!! [She firmly rejects claims that TWA 800 was anything but a fuel tank accident (see below).] It sure is interesting how several key people seem to pop up here and there for different reasons. As General Counsel for the FBI she might have a lot of say in how both the Plame leak investigation and allegations about "the wall" contributing to 9/11 are handled from the FBI's standpoint. Article below says one of her recent priorities has been streamlining FBI requests for warrants related to counter-terrorism investigations. She must know quite a bit from her days in the FBI's NY offices.

http://www.law.uga.edu/news/archives/041007caproni.html

On July 17, 1996, TWA Flight 800 bound for Paris crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Long Island after taking off from JFK at 8:31 p.m. All 230 people aboard died. Because officials at first believed it was a criminal act (some witnesses said they saw a missile hit the plane), the FBI and Caproni were brought in to investigate and ensure the site was treated as a crime scene. That meant that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), which normally investigates plane crashes, was pushed to the sidelines. That fueled rumors that the feds were covering something up.

Caught up in these rumors was Caproni, who conspiracy theorists accused of running roughshod over the NTSB during the first few days after the accident. Apparently, she made it quite clear that the FBI was in charge and that the FBI would conduct all interviews with witnesses. In addition, Caproni ruffled some feathers when she charged James Sanders, a freelance journalist, for removing a piece of the wreck in order to test it in a lab for explosive residue. To this day, some people still believe terrorists blew up the plane or that a wayward Navy missile struck it, and that Caproni tried to silence witnesses and journalists.

Caproni laughs at the accusations.

"Conspiracy theorists came out of the woodwork before the last piece of the plane hit the Atlantic," she says. "This was the most thorough investigation that had ever been done. We followed every lead and there was no doubt the plane exploded. It was not brought down by a rocket or a bomb. It exploded because of the center fuel tank. Anyone who believes otherwise is not listening to the facts."

As for the charges that she and the FBI took over investigation, Caproni says she is guilty.

"The FBI stepped to the plate because we believed we were investigating a criminal case," she says. "We indicated that we were in charge."

Caproni, like Snell, was central to the handling of terror investigations in the NY offices of FBI and US Attorney during the Clinton years. Now she's General Counsel for the entire FBI....
-----------------------------------------------------------
http://www.apfn.net/messageboard/04-17-05/discussion.cgi.37.html

Valerie Caproni, now the FBI general counsel, was a prosecutor in Scarpa's 1998 trial in Brooklyn, N.Y. At the time, Scarpa testified he spied for the FBI on four suspects in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, including convicted mastermind Ramzi Yousef, while they were jailed together in Manhattan.

Scarpa said he passed on to the FBI plans that said associates of the four men would kill a prosecutor in one of Yousef's trials and attack a federal judge he declined to name as well as unspecified "government installations."

Caproni and U.S. District Judge Reena Raggi scoffed at Scarpa's claims, which the judge called insignificant at best and more likely "part of a scam."

Freelance journalist Peter Lance has argued in his recent book, "Cover Up," that Scarpa's information was accurate and included tips that could have led the FBI to Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, Yousef's uncle, long before the Sept. 11 attacks Mohammed purportedly helped plan.

Ms. Emily Walker (center) receives the 2004 Chairman’s Award from Dr. George W. Arnold (left), Chairman of the ANSI Board of Directors. Wendy Freitag (right), Microsoft Corporate Security, accompanies Ms. Walker.

Emily Walker began her career working for such institutions as the Republican National Committee, the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Department of Treasury before moving to London in 1991, to work for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). From 1993 to 1995, she worked as an independent consultant in Washington, DC for the U.S. Government and EBRD. In 1995, she joined Citigroup where she has held many positions and worked in their London, New York, Hartford and Stamford, CT, offices. Most recently, Ms. Walker served as a staff member of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission). It was in this position that Ms. Walker demonstrated her dedication to, and leadership and support of, the American National Standards Institute Homeland Security Standards Panel (ANSI-HSSP).

A public hearing held by 9-11 Commission in late 2003 identified that there were no generally accepted standards in the area of private sector preparedness. Ms. Walker was appointed as the Commission’s focal point to investigate possible solutions, and she asked ANSI to become involved, leading to a formal invitation from the Commission chairman inviting ANSI to produce a recommendation.

Since the inception of the ANSI-HSSP, Ms. Walker has played a vital role in bringing key players to the group, keeping focus on the deadline and working with participants to reach consensus. Ms. Walker was very involved throughout the process, including the instrumental role that she played in planning the presentation ceremony where the president of ANSI formally presented the recommendation to the Honorable H. Lee Hamilton, vice chair of the 9-11 Commission.

Following completion of her assignment with the Commission, she again joined the Citigroup Corporation.

Ms. Walker earned her BA in international affairs and French at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her MA in international economics, European studies, French at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Washington, DC.

This group DEFINITELY needs to be watched ... a whole slew of Rats, with powerfully connected people up to NO good.

Center for American Progress Staff

They can't even tell the truth when they describe What We're About

The Center for American Progress is a nonpartisan research and educational institute dedicated to promoting a strong, just and free America that ensures opportunity for all. We believe Americans are bound together by a common commitment to these values and we aspire to ensure our national policies reflect these values. Our policy and communications efforts are organized around four major objectives:

• developing a long term vision of a progressive America,

• providing a forum to generate new progressive ideas and policy proposals,

• responding effectively and rapidly to conservative proposals and rhetoric with a thoughtful critique and clear alternatives, and

• communicating progressive messages to the American public.

We work to find progressive and pragmatic solutions to significant domestic and international problems and develop policy proposals that foster a government that is "of the people, by the people, and for the people." We believe in honoring work, building strong communities, fostering effective government and encouraging free and fair markets.

Every day we challenge conservative thinking that undermines the bedrock American values of liberty, community and shared responsibility.

The Center for American Progress advances policies that help create sustained economic growth and new opportunities for all Americans. We support fiscal discipline, shared prosperity, and investments in people through education, health care and workforce training.

The Center for American Progress promotes the cause of liberty. We press for a government that protects our civil rights, safeguards our neighborhoods and lands, and provides equal justice under the law.

In a world of unprecedented threats, the Center for American Progress encourages policies that protect the American people and further our national interests. We promote the need for a strong, smart military and believe America must safeguard its homeland, fight terrorism and take on threats that know no borders. And we believe America's interests are advanced when we strengthen alliances and work with multilateral institutions that support the rule of law.

As progressives we stand for policies that unleash the potential of all our people. We are dedicated to promoting concrete ideas that can help create an America that is powerful, just, safe and free.

Anxious for your reaction on the link I just sent you. The Podesta group ... there's no doubt they're readying for Shrillery ... and they've got some HUGE guns on board. I hope you check out the bios. Yeah ... they're a "non-partisan and research organization" like I'm Donald Duck.

Quack!

Seriously, I'll have to review all those names & organizations when I have more time-- the interconnections at first glance are astonishing- little wonder so much stonewalling is going on...

What did Ambrose Bierce say about "partnerships?"

Something along the lines of "Two thieves whose hands were so thoroughly enmeshed in picking each others' pockets that they could not separately plunder a third..."

Good catch!! Here's one that served in the Clinton White House, then on the staff of the 9/11 Commission, and now is with Podesta's "Center for American Progress" -- think this guy was up to anything good with Jamie Gorelick on the 9/11 Commission???? From his job description with the 9/11 Commission, it sounds like he would be one of the staffers situated smack in the middle of issues about "the WALL" and failures of the intel agencies -- anyone think he was open to finding or publicizing evidence embarrassing to Clinton, Gore, Reno, Gorelick, et al???

Peter Rundlet, Vice President for National Security and International Affairs

Peter Rundlet is the Vice President for National Security and International Affairs at the Center for American Progress. Prior to joining American Progress, Peter was Counsel for the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the "9/11 Commission"), where he focused on domestic intelligence and law enforcement policy, including related civil liberties issues. In 1997, Peter was selected to be a White House Fellow, serving in the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President. After his fellowship year, he was appointed Associate Counsel to the President and was responsible for a range of policy and constitutional law issues until the end of the Clinton administration. After his White House tenure, Peter was an attorney in the political law department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Earlier in his career, Peter received the Skadden Public Interest Law Fellowship and was an Assistant Counsel for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, where he litigated voting rights, housing, school desegregation, and employment discrimination cases. Peter was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras. He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

Check it out!! Peter Rundlet, 9/11 Commission staffer and Clinton drone from the White House Counsel's office -- with Rundlet + Jamie Gorelick + Dietrich Snell + Daniel Marcus, the 9/11 Commission was absolutely STACKED with Clintonlite drones focused upon controlling the treatment of intel and legal issues. None of these types would have allowed a focus upon "the Wall" or the related catastrophic mis-judgments of the Clinton years.... Daniel Marcus and Peter Rundlet went from White House Counsel's office under Clinton to crucial positions on the 9/11 Commission....and Rundlet is now in the pay of the Soros-Podesta "Center for American Progress"..... THE FIX WAS IN on the 9/11 Commission.....

What perturbs me is that the Republicans didn't focus on the Wall and ask questions about it and demand that Gorelick resign, or, better, yet, never permitted her to be seated to begin with.

So far the more obvious 'Fixers' on the 9/11 Commission and its staff: Jamie Gorelick, Richard Ben Veniste, Dietrich Snell, Daniel Marcus, Peter Rundlet. All have close personal ties to Bill and/or Hillary Clinton and/or John Podesta and/or (in the case of Jamie Gorelick and Dietrich Snell) were deeply and directly implicated in failures of the Clinton administration to properly utilize all the intel that we did in fact have on Al Qaeda terrorists. The Clintonlites were able to pour a whole group of people with massive conflicts-of-interest onto the Commission and key staff positions!! Unreal. Not surprising, given the history of our nation since the Clintons arrived on the scene, but still unreal.

True, but they would have had to get rid of Ben Veniste, Snell, Rundlet, and Marcus (at a minimum), in addition to Gorelick, in order to have had a chance of an impartial commission.... and who knows how many other 'Rat moles were burrowing into the commission's work, making sure that embarrassing info would never see the light of day or else would be 'framed' in the proper Clintonlite perspective.
