MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former physical education teacher charged with having sex with a 13-year-old boy who attended the school where she worked agreed to a nine-month jail sentence in a plea deal Thursday and was immediately locked up.
Pamela Rogers Turner, 28, entered a no contest plea that allowed her to avoid a scheduled November trial on multiple charges of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenager during a three-month relationship that started in November.
A court clerk said the nine months in jail is part of an eight-year sentence for the former homecoming queen previously described by the sheriff as "absolutely gorgeous."
Judge Bart Stanley accepted her plea and said the jail time would be followed by supervised probation. He also directed Turner to surrender her teaching certificate.
The mother of the teenager previously described Turner as a family friend and said she hoped there would not be a trial. District Attorney Dale Potter said Thursday that was part of the reason for the agreement.
Turner was arrested in February and freed on a $50,000 bond after investigators said they discovered the relationship. Potter has said Turner lived at the boy's house "for a brief period of time when she was moving from residence to residence" while she and her husband were divorcing.
Before resigning, Turner taught physical education and coached girls basketball two years at Centertown Elementary, a Warren County school for grades kindergarten through eight.
I'm sure she is...
But I'm also sure that I would have LOVED to have been that kid. Seriously.
Am I the only male here who does NOT think she is hot? Leaving morality aside (!!!), I don't find her attractive at all.
LOL
From the looks of Helen Thomas's face can you imagine what the rest of here must look like?
They should post a naked picture of her in every cell in Gitmo.
I think everyone here is missing the truly shocking thing about this story: This female physical ed teacher is actually heterosexual!
You might be one of a handful...
"I see a Playboy spread and a movie deal in this Woman's future."
No doubt. She'll be of in plenty girly mags and sleazy movies, no doubt. Show up as the "teacher" in some Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure clones.
Sadly, statutory rape was probably best career move she could have ever made.
Yep.
I think it's wrong. For many reasons. Sorry.
What is that verse, I want to send it to someone. Thanks
Since when did PE teachers EVER look like that?
If she'd looked like Helen Thomas, the kid would never be able to live it down.
I wonder: did this always go on, or are we just starting to hold women accountable to the same standards as men now? Of course, Newt Gingrich married his high school math teacher, so it's been going on at least since the early 60s.
I'd hate to be her (ex-)husband--or worse, the husband of the other Barbie-doll teacher down in Florida, because they were still "happily" married when *she* was doinking the 14-year-old.
I just don't understand it. I mean, yeah, we had some attractive teachers when I was in high school, and any kid who would've "gotten with" one would have been a hero to us then. But what possesses a woman who could have any man she wanted, or is supposedly happily married, to go after a 13- or 14-year-old?
The kid's side of it, I can see...raging ball of teenage hormones + hot chick = jackpot. But her side? I don't get it.

Absolutely not because it just isn't the same crime. We like to delude ourselves into believing that males and females are completely equal in every measure but this simply isn't so.
An adult male having sex with a 13 year-old girl is committing a more serious crime than an adult female having sex with a 13 year-old boy. It may be the same crime on the books but in the perception of many, it is apples and oranges.
Mine sure didn't. Mine fell into the category of "That's a MAN, baby!"

I don't get it either.
But I definitely wish there were some teachers of mine that had this particular problem.
Probably.
So, is she being added to her state's "known sex offenders" list? Does she have to live with the same sex offender tag and under the same sex offender rules that a man would have to?
