MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A former physical education teacher charged with having sex with a 13-year-old boy who attended the school where she worked agreed to a nine-month jail sentence in a plea deal Thursday and was immediately locked up.
Pamela Rogers Turner, 28, entered a no contest plea that allowed her to avoid a scheduled November trial on multiple charges of having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenager during a three-month relationship that started in November.
A court clerk said the nine months in jail is part of an eight-year sentence for the former homecoming queen previously described by the sheriff as "absolutely gorgeous."
Judge Bart Stanley accepted her plea and said the jail time would be followed by supervised probation. He also directed Turner to surrender her teaching certificate.
The mother of the teenager previously described Turner as a family friend and said she hoped there would not be a trial. District Attorney Dale Potter said Thursday that was part of the reason for the agreement.
Turner was arrested in February and freed on a $50,000 bond after investigators said they discovered the relationship. Potter has said Turner lived at the boy's house "for a brief period of time when she was moving from residence to residence" while she and her husband were divorcing.
Before resigning, Turner taught physical education and coached girls basketball two years at Centertown Elementary, a Warren County school for grades kindergarten through eight.
I don't think she intended to get caught. This a small town girl/woman and she wanted the respect of the community and her husband. He was the high school basketball coach till he resigned over this. The papers have it wrong. too. They said she lived with the boys parents durring her divorce. She lived with them before her marriage. She had only been married about a year when this happened. For all intents and purposes, she was supposedly happily married while she was fooling around with this boy. And the boys parents staunchly defended her.
the video of her on tv with the hat on and chewing gum made her look very much of jr high age. she is dressed up and looking her age in court, however.
Now, everyone that thinks it's okay for a man of her age to have sex with a girl of 13 (about the age of your daughter) please raise your hand.

She can exercise total and complete control over him. She is on a power trip and some 13 year old is the target. It’s not at all about sex other then sex being a tool. It’s all about control and she wants to be in control of something or somebody. If you dig into her head a bit you will find a very weak and scared person only one step removed from being a serial rapist.

1) He'd be a better lover later in life.
2) He could brag to his friends.
3) You all wish you could've bene with an older woman at his age (or so you say)

I wouldn't use the word abuse. I'd say, "take advantage." She took advantage of this boy.
I have a 14 year old brother. Whenever his friends come over, they always pay me attention. They hang on to every word I say. They tell me I'm pretty. And I'm just flattered. It's just cute and sweet. But that's all. Cute and sweet. I'm 19. I'm not attracted to 13 and 14 year old boys because of just that. They are BOYS, not MEN.

Nail meet hammer. I think you are dead on right. She acted like a 13 yr old (from the accounts I've heard) when she was around him.
Either that or too much ego. They think they can get anybody and are bestowing favors on somebody.

We used to live pretty near McMinnville. Caucasian recyclables area, mostly ... but this inbred waste of carbon is clearly a step down from that.

9 MONTHS IN JAIL!
SHOW ME the MALE teacher raping a 13 year girl that gets only 9 months in jail...more like 9 years and he would deserve every day. So does she. Having double standards like this is one of the things that keeps (some) men from taking women seriously on equality issues. You want equal treatment, accept equal responsibility.
She won't be looking so hot when she's 60 and still photographed on the "Registered Sex Offender" website in the county in which she lives. This follows you all the days of your life.
Nice of her to be so agreeable. Personally, I think she should be locked up 'till she's old and gray.
