GRASSROOTS BLACK REPUBLICAN ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCES FORMATION
Washington, D.C. -August 10, 2005 A group of African American Republican activists, and their supporters from around the country, will announce the formation of a national grassroots organization August 15, 2005 at 1:00 pm (EST) in the nations capital. The announcement will be held at the law offices of Troutman Sanders LLC, 401 Ninth Street, NW Suite 1000, Washington, D.C.
The creation of the National Black Republican Association is the product of the dreams and efforts of scores of black Republicans across the nation, said interim Chairperson Frances Rice, co-founder of a black Republican group in Sarasota, Florida. Black grassroots activists have always been involved locally and nationally within the Republican Party, but there was always agreement that we needed a national organization to represent the interests of Republicans in the black community. We also needed an organization that will effectively counter the disinformation concerning Republicans being perpetuated by the Democratic Party.
The mission of the National Black Republican Association (NBRA) is to be a resource for the black community on Republican ideals and to support the principles of the Republican Party. The NBRA aims to increase the number of black Americans who vote for Republicans, and are active in the Republican Party, by providing information, networking opportunities and resources for black Republicans nationwide.
The National Black Republican Federation, the NBRAs affiliated Section 527 organization, will identify prospective black Republican candidates for elected office and provide those candidates with financial and grassroots assistance.
"These are exciting times for black Republicans, said Donald Scoggins Interim Co-Chairman and president of a black Republican group in Virginia. One important aim of the NBRA is to empower the people, by championing opportunity scholarships for black children and helping black Americans move into our Ownership Society. With the help of our supporters, the NBRA will change the political landscape, for the sake of our future generations."

Awesome, but a may be more appealing to portray yourselves as black Americans aligned with Republicans instead of just Black Republicans.
Semantcs like that can make a world of differance.
...for your HIS-222/AfricanAmerican History Class this semester?
"Tyrant" was a favorite word (in English or Latin) of John Wilkes Booth. Belafonte might be interested in knowing that.
Where did they hold the meeting? In a phone booth?
I thought the Republican Party is the party of old white racist men?
If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
excellent.
Lynn Swann for Governor!!!
Don't scoff. They have to start somewhere. Big oaks from little acorns, etc.
Wow, awesome news! Way to fight back against the DUmmie machine!
Free men + true choices = that's what America's all about. Now the Dems will stop taking minority votes for granted.
Well heck if you don't mind a white interlopers help, I'll pitch in where I can even if it is only financially.
This is so great.
But I just can't this time.. just the thought of jugs of Thunderbird(wine) or Malt Liquor hitting the floor when news of this group gets out... somehow gives me a warm fuzzy feeling vibrating in my political'ater..
Now that is an association I wouldn't mind supporting once a year with a donation. Hope they do well!!! =)
Congratulation!!
A great step forward. This is the kind of movement that could be monumental in changing the terms of the debate in this country. All the best to you, friend.
in contrast, many people today are unaware that the Democratic party is the party of slavery, secession and segregation.
Good going! Hope you guys shake some trees back there.
