Awesome, but a may be more appealing to portray yourselves as black Americans aligned with Republicans instead of just Black Republicans.

Semantcs like that can make a world of differance.

The term "Black Republican" does have a history which points to the very origins of the party. In the days after Lincoln's election many newspapers in the South used this term to stir up secession sentiment.

in contrast, many people today are unaware that the Democratic party is the party of slavery, secession and segregation.
