As a 24 year Army-veteran, married to a Desert Storm veteran a father of six-children, two of whom have served in uniform - I would not ever want to feel what this parent is trying to deal with.
I don't agree with what she is doing and I hate the way the 'left' is using her, but, everyone deals with death in a different way. I pray not many peole have to experience the death of a child to find out their reaction.
I'm tired of hearing all the 'chest-beating' morons...
Just my 2-cents on a mother who is somewhere I never want to be...
They love to send flowers. remember they sent Boxer all those roses!
Third verse same as the first... ABC radio news at 3 p.m. MDT. Same two leads. e-mailing Sean because I'm listening to his flagship station, WABC, on the web.
I don't consider myself unfeeling...and for the first few days I really did feel a lot of sympathy...BUT,
when you read that she is didn't tell anyone at first that she HAD met President Bush, that she was anti-war BEFORE her son died, and (worst of all) she has basically abandoned her other children and husband....SHE is the MORON...
and I don't appreciate being catagorized as a "chest beating moron"...
Family members of Cindy Sheehan, the Vacaville woman camped outside President Bush's ranch in Texas protesting the war in Iraq, reportedly have denounced her actions.
In an e-mail to a San Francisco radio station, Cherie Quartarolo, a sister-in-law and godmother of Sheehan's son, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2004, said: "We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son's good name and reputation.''
Casey Sheehan, an Army specialist, was killed in an ambush in Sadr City a week after his arrival in Iraq. His mother since has become a focal point in the partisan battle over the Iraq war, drawing the praise of many anti-war activists and the ire of those who see her as misguided.
In the e-mail, Quartarolo says she is speaking on behalf of Casey Sheehan's paternal grandparents, as well as "aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.''
Casey's father, Patrick of Vacaville, was not mentioned. He has acknowledged that he and his wife are separated, but he has declined to comment on his wife's high-profile protest in Crawford, Texas.
I agree up to this point. But, her actions, as I said are based on two things(1)The death of her son (2)Being used by the 'left' and the liberal media.
I would never wish to experience this to understand it...If you have children, would you trade places with her so you could show the rest of us 'how it's done?'
I don't agree with her action...but I don't want to find out what mine would be.
She is BRAGGING about being on the cover of People Magazine, and in Time and Vanity Fair, and others...
THIS woman isn't grieving she is reveling in this...
Her son died 1 and 1/2 years ago...and if her grieving process wasn't completed...it is HER fault, because she didn't LET herself grieve, she immediately USED her son's death to make a name for herself...and she admits all of this.
As I said, I don't agree with her actions...but I don't want to find out what mine would be...and I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't want to be in that spot. Ever.
You and I can definitely agree that we wouldn't want to know the pain of losing a child....
BUT, I can promise you that I would be very PROUD of a child that died in service to his/her country, and I would not do ANYTHING to put the other troops or the citizens of the USA in further danger because I am a bitter, anti-semitic, kook!
And I also believe that WE have as much right to comment on HER behavior has she does commenting on President Bush's behavior, which she lied about!!!!
Be careful of promises made...there are times we may come face to face with them in the future.

Sorry about double key whack! Long day at the college...fall registration excuse....
What are you suggesting might happen in the future that would make me be NOT proud of my son if he dies defending this country?

She aligned herself with the Bush Lied/People Died crowd, including Medea Benjamin of Code Pink and other San Francisco Lefty rent-a-mob usual suspects.
She admitted she was AGAINST the war BEFORE her son died.
I have an e-mail from Jim Krause, whose brother Elmer was killed in Iraq at the same time as Casey Sheehan. Cindy Sheehan was with Mr. Krause at Fort Lewis, Washington when President Bush joined them in the chapel.
"Mel, let me tell you his guard was down. He was real. He was genuine. He was sincere. His eyes teared while we told of our loss. He said he was sorry. During that time we all could have blasted out our anger, criticism and contept. He would have stood there and taken it.
..we all share in the loss of loved ones. I don't begin to know a mother's pain and God forbid, the pain of the loss of an only child. I have only one. I only know if she doesn't get past her anger, she will die a bitter woman. Cindy calls for the President to bring the troops home to honor her son. I say "Mr. President, honor my brother's remains
and his 10-year old son whom he dearly loved by STAYING THE COURSE.'
One other observation. When I was in Iraq, many soldiers told me they saw the video of the U.S. soldier hung in effigy in Sacramento. The rally that Cindy Sheehan attended.
They were shocked, upset and angry that the demonstration took place because they say it undermines their mission and morale.
I wonder what Casey Sheehan would say about his mother's actions--let alone her words.

I don't give a d*mn how upset she is, she is wrong to do that.

I hope the family members make a media appearence . Then again, I can just hear the crickets chirping when asking the Main Stream press to cover this. BUMP
