You make some interesting points...especially considering the tone of this thread.
As a 24 year Army-veteran, married to a Desert Storm veteran a father of six-children, two of whom have served in uniform - I would not ever want to feel what this parent is trying to deal with.
I don't agree with what she is doing and I hate the way the 'left' is using her, but, everyone deals with death in a different way. I pray not many peole have to experience the death of a child to find out their reaction.
I'm tired of hearing all the 'chest-beating' morons...
Just my 2-cents on a mother who is somewhere I never want to be...

I don't consider myself unfeeling...and for the first few days I really did feel a lot of sympathy...BUT,
when you read that she is didn't tell anyone at first that she HAD met President Bush, that she was anti-war BEFORE her son died, and (worst of all) she has basically abandoned her other children and husband....SHE is the MORON...
and I don't appreciate being catagorized as a "chest beating moron"...

Your sympathy is vastly misplaced. Go around the web, or Free Republic and read what this woman is saying. She is using her son's death as a political propaganda prop. This isn't about grief, it's about political propaganda. Funny how what she is saying NOW is EXACTLY opposite of what she said after meeting with the President in July 2004.
