The email is from Cherie Quarterolo, who is speaking for the family and is Casey Sheehan's godmother. The email, with the statement contained, follows:

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue:
Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

I read on here the other day that one of her relatives called a radio station in California and said that she was a control freak -- and that her son joined the military to get away from her.
Looks like she can't live with the fact that, despite HER disagreement with the war, he re-upped.

A local talkshow host today was expressing some support for her..until he went and looked at what she's writing. Talk about your radical turn about in his thoughts.

Right Wing Death Babe Melanie Morgan at KSFO received a statement from the family this morning, in response to a condolence letter she had sent in response to... well, you get the picture. Melanie was kind enough to forward it to me to help get it moving in the blogosphere to counter all the fawning attention Sheehan's little vigil in Crawford is generating in the general media.

Were there any names signed to the statement? I tried to google his godmother (Cherie Quarterolo), who is speaking on behalf of this group and got zero hits. Thought that was a bit wierd.
