9/11 Commission Acknowledges Briefing On Able Danger
Captain's Quarters ^ | August 10, 2005 | Captain Ed

Tomorrow's New York Times reports that members of the 9/11 Commission reversed themselves and now acknowledge being briefed on the Army's data mining project, Able Danger, prior to the publication of their report to the American people. After over 24 hours of denying that anyone had told the Commission about the secret project, their spokesman now says that commission officials met with a uniformed officer who told them about the identification of Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers in 2000, over a year prior to the attacks:

It would be nice if someone could post a picture of Hillary waving that around. It'll make good campaign material...especially with the real headline. "My husband Knew".

Sandy Berger's Sentencing Postponed

Excerpt:

Sentencing for former Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, who pleaded guilty in April to stealing and destroying top secret terrorism documents from the National Archives, has been delayed, NewsMax.com has learned.

Asked why Berger wasn't sentenced as scheduled on Friday, July 8, a Justice Department spokesman told NewsMax on Tuesday that Berger's sentencing has been postponed till September. The spokesman declined to offer an explanation for the delay.

UPDATE, 5:43 AM: Interestingly, the New York Times changed its headline overnight from "9/11 Commission's Staff Ignored Military's Early Identification of Chief Hijacker" to "9/11 Commission's Staff Rejected Report on Early Identification of Chief Hijacker". Nothing else changed in the story except the headline. Did the Times feel uncomfortable with the clearly accurate first headline and want to attract less attention in the blogosphere?

So Lee Hamilton is just another lying Democrat. So much for his supposed "integrity." And where is Mr. Milquetoast, the thoroughly forgetable Republican co-chair? The only thing I remember about this intellectual pigmy is his mole.

Notice this story is from LAST SUMMER during the initial flury of Berger's Underweargate.

BUBBA'S BOY BERGER New York Post. New York, N.Y.: Jul 22, 2004. pg. 030 People: Clinton, Bill, Berger, Samuel R Section: Editorial Text Word Count 646 Document URL:

Abstract (Document Summary)

[Sandy Berger], of course, is not likely to be so lucky; he's admitted to breaking the law - though not in those terms - by carting the secret documents out the archives in a leather portfolio.

What Berger took from the Archives was several drafts of an after- action review of al-Qaeda's thwarted attempt to attack America during the 1999 millennium celebration, written by anti-terrorism ...

Gorelick is the person most responsible for 9-11 being a successful terrorist operation.

Think bigger! GORELICK was Assistant Attorney General who ultimately worked for BILL CLINTON.

Make NO mistake, it was CLINTON who called the shots on this LIE. Understand the 9/11 commisson was all about passing the buck to Bush (their first attempt) and then preventing the truth of Clinton's incompetent Presidency from hitting the MSM.

How do we know this was attas roommate?

I don't know the answer to that.

It was Southack's find, so I'm sure he can tell us how he knows that's about Atta's roommate.

I'm dying to know myself.

protecting Clinton's legacy.

NO, it was about preventing YOU from KNOWING that Clinton for political reasons lied about terrorist actions in the United States before 9/11.

It's about Jamie Gorelick, Richard Clark, Sandy Berger etc. in a conspiracy to cover for Clinton.

ALthough most don't believe the lies that have been told, you soon will have no option as the roaches continue to climb out to the cabinets.

Right, we just want to close the circle here... Sept 11 2000 is way too coincidental if we have attas roommate involved in an accident.

I'll concede every point you've raised, but if fighting terror for all these reasons is vital to the survival of this nation then Ms. Gorelick should be spending the rest of her life in prison for treason and dereliction of duty.

And as long as that @sshole remains free, you will never convince me that "fighting terror" has anything to do with the survival of this nation.

Only the GOP appointed "abject mediocrities" to sit on the 9/11 Commission. The Dims, as usual, stacked the panel with rabid partisan attack dogs as well as the foxes responsible for the henhouse raids.

Sorry, but these Democrats were all "abject mediocrities." Bob Kerrey couldn't even handle the sight of two harmless Freepers protesting on a sidewalk in Washington without getting all sorts of hot and bothered.

(Click HERE for a look back at one of the great moments in the history of FreeRepublic)

There's a reason why the Democrats had more "rabid partisan attack dogs" on that commission. It's because there are far more Democrats than Republicans with the time to sit on a panel like that -- all of their political careers are over, and they've really got nothing better to do than bloviate before the cameras.

As they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. If his TX Governorship is any indication, the noose is tightening around a few folks and they don't even know it. The persona you see in public is not necessarily what is behind the scenes. You don't have Karl Rove sitting next door as the pitbull if you don't have some pitbull in yourself.

This may be why the liberals went after Rove so hard.

Thanks for finding that -- makes you wonder doesn't it? Berger may have his plea bargain revoked yet -- talk about poetic justice. Tell the truth about the Clintons or go to jail -- bet he would take jail.
