A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

What if it were really true? What if you woke up one day and money really were no object? How would you change your life? Would your life change? Would it be better? Worse? Can money really buy happiness?

Let's *play like* today (and tomorrow) we can have absolutely anything in the world that money can buy.
Money's no object. What would you buy? Pretend we've already saved the world with our vast wealth, and now we're ready to spend it foolishly and selfishly. :)

Would you buy a bigger house?

$ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $

Perhaps your own private island...

How many of these would you own?

Vacation around the world

You have a summer home, a winter home, a
beach house, a bungalow in the mountains....
You travel to exotic, faraway places and
stay in nothing but 5 star hotels and resorts.

AND...of course, only the best tables...
in the very finest restaurants will do.

It is funny, my life right now is pretty crazy & I am often pretty broke but overall I am much happier than years ago in career of Real Estate Development when I had oodles of money.. but then not as much time or energy.

And what matters is that you're happy. I know it's a tired old phrase, but money really can't buy happiness. Having a lot of "stuff" doesn't mean a thing if you don't have people to love and those who can love you back. If you're happy as you are, then you're doing it right. ;-)

I wasn't born a Paris Hilton, either. One of my favorite teachers in high school wrote in my yearbook "May you work hard for everything you get."

I often wonder if he cursed me with that by writing it. LOL

"...a big log cabin somewhere in Montana..."

Ooooo, that sounds good, too.

Lessee, a summer home in Bayfield, WI, a sailboat to sail around the Apostle Islands there, a log cabin in the Montana mountains(with plumbing and electricity, of course) and the grandchildren can come visit ME. Paradise.

How To Photograph A High-Strung Puppy

14. Try to get puppy's attention by squeaking toy over your head.
15. Replace your glasses and check camera for damage.
16. Jump up in time to grab puppy and say, "No, outside! No, outside!"
17. Call spouse to clean up mess.

Ooops... blew my cover. Dangit. Yeah, I'm only 16, so I have a few years yet to enjoy the more intense water sports... but who's to stop even an older chap, eh?

Lunch... nothing processed. A nice pulled pork sandwich with a fresh fruit salad, grilled corn on the cob, and salt potatoes with lotsa butter. Ahhh....

Ahhhh, is right. I'm in. But no paper plates, of course. :)

Very nice set-up, Darling, though I think I'll leave Momar and Pearly, his new bride, on the previous thread. LOL!

Oh, I'm so glad. They just don't fit in with the beautiful people that *we* are. :)

I'm with you, Red. The very first thing I thought of was 'sailboat'.

With a name like "Lakeside", what else? :)

The photo of Aspen *is* breathtaking! I thought of adding Aspen to the vacation pics, but it was sorta a last-minute search, and I didn't google very long for 'vacation spots'.
