President George W Bush today spoke about the Energy Policy Act of 2005 he signed into law today at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, N.M.

Before he departed for New Mexico he spoke to reporters at WACO expressing condolences regarding the death from lung cancer of ABC broadcaster Peter Jennings

QUOTE

THE PRESIDENT: “Laura and I were saddened to learn about the death of Peter Jennings. Peter Jennings had a long and distinguished career as a news journalist. He covered many important events, events that helped define the world as we know it today. A lot of Americans relied upon Peter Jennings for their news. He became a part of the lives of a lot of our fellow citizens, and he will be missed. May God bless his soul.”

Over the weekend there has been much talk on TV and FR about a lady called Cindy Sheehan of Gold Star Families for Peace and her demands to speak to the President. For further details on this please see yesterday’s dose and for suggestions in how one can support the President against this women please see Dr Deb post Number 369

If one wants to see a photo of the lady roasting in the Texas heat here is a link for you Cindy Sheehan near her makeshift camp near a road leading to the President’s Ranch

Last Friday Vice President Dick Cheney led a delegation to Saudi Arabia to pay respects following the recent death of King Fahd which included former President GHW Bush and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Thanks, mystery. And I left out a few of the more annoying annoyances to the whole thing. Mike and Mark said they'd never seen a move go with such difficulty. It was one of those things where you had to be there in the suspense of the moment, not knowing how things would turn out, to get the whole impact. Let me say, however, that this move really took a lot out of me and I am glad the packing and hauling are over.

Thanks for the ping, Gretchen, and I'm glad to hear you're in a good place where you feel comfortable. The story of Sabrina is great! I have a feeling that's only the first chapter. If I can be of help, let me know.

It's amazing where spirit will lead if we are willing to be led, sometimes.

Just take care of yourself...you shouldn't have done any lifting with your back.

A lot of people like to mislabel "pork" so they can blame Bush. But the "pork" is the stuff that Congressfolk put into bills so they can get re-elected. Bush has nothing to do with pork - nor does any other President.
The President has nothing to gain by approving a bridge in Alaska, a walking trail in the NE, or a museum in the mid-West.

Heck, so much pork has been directed to WV that they've had to start naming roads after Byrd's wife. There are too many named for him.

Thank you snugs .... the sunglass cowboy is sure looking hunky ;).

GM!! So glad to hear from you and to know you've finally landed .. through the travails, missteps and bolluxes that always happen with moving .. (I may be doing that soon as well)... and you're getting settled.

You sound HOME .. God Bless you in this new chapter and adventure .. God's already introducing you to the people who need you and vice versa. Wonderful!!

They try to mislabel it hoping that no one knows what they are trying to do. The fact that no one trusts the "lame stream media" anymore is a testament to the fact that they have done this one too many times!

If they want to get rid of pork they need to give the President a line-item veto. He probably would gladly zap some of the stupid things Congresspigs ask for!

The only lifting I did was clothing, taken from the car, and the lightest items, such as empty garbage cans, lamps, etc. The cleaning did some nasty stuff to my back, however, and I need to see my chiropractor. Both of my feet have numb areas since the cleaning day (due to lower back alignment problems), and my upper back is a mess. I don't know when I'll be able to get to the chiropractor, however, due to his schedule and mine, and the fact that I moved even farther away (sob). But it'll work out sometime.

Thanks very much. I won't know just how bad it is until tomorrow when I go see him. His daytime charge nurse is very helpful but I've not talked to her yet. Your kindness is appreciated.

Thanks Ohio, apples and snugs.

I should have said (it is morning and I think better in the afternoons, but you are all asleep then!) that I did find a copy of A Charge To Keep here. I LOVED IT!! :) I also found The Faith of GWB in a Christian bookshop here

Looks like A Matter Of Character is a definate. Does anyone have a comment on whether I should get Karen's or Ari's book?

Thanks SO much for your help. I need to go to work, but will check in again later.

Your faraway friend.

I believe Wolfstar gave quite a full report of Ari's book not long ago, it might be worth sending her a FReep mail

We've moved a great number of times. Several of them were interstate moves. Self moves, with movers. All were difficult. We are buying a house and will be moving in December and I dread that after reading your account. Hopefully this is our last move.
