The purpose of the transaction is twofold: to eliminate [Evan Cohen] and his partner Rex Sorensen's shares in the company, and to insulate the cash-strapped network from any debt or other obligation that Cohen may have incurred.
Since it is still the same owners.....would it be safe to say that they have alot of shady loans that they are protecting themselves from? And I also want to know who was advising them.

That we may never learn. But given the ineptness of it,
it was more likely Gore than Soros.
Here's the list of penetrating questions:

Could not have been Gore or Soros...Soros would just bail them out and Gore ...this stuff is above his head.
Now check this....from The Chicago Tribune date May 22nd 2004.
"Drobny stressed that [Doug Kreeger]'s appointment was temporary, and that he will serve "until the board of directors takes care of all the old business left behind by Evan Cohen." Cohen, an investor and former chairman of the network, was ousted early this month. Sources said Cohen left after expected additional funding failed to materialize."
Was the addition funding another loan from the boy's and girls club?
It appears that John Cook is the reporter tapped by the Tribune to cover Air America....most stories have his by-line.
> ... and Gore ...this stuff is above his head.
That hasn't stopped him from buying a sat TV network.
Where did he get the money?
Who is funding the daily ops?
I agree about the finance reform part. I just love the irony. It is so thick you could not cut it with a chain saw.
I mean...a touted liberal organization that plans to give a challange to that mean old nasty Rush Limbaugh....lies to it's investors, tanks in the ratings even though it gets HUGE press coverage...and then to top it off they get busted for taking money from little kids and old people.....oh my.......LMAO...and then change the company name ( although it is the same owners) so they would not have to pay the money back......oh...man...my back hurts!!!!

I read that one...how bout this.
This is a snippet from Feb 25 2005 in the Chicago Tribune. Danny Goldberg is the author.
"Air America has been on an upswing, compared with the near- disaster that struck just two weeks after it launched. It was bounced off stations in Chicago and Los Angeles after a billing dispute and failed to meet payroll. But after ousting Chairman Evan Cohen in May and accusing him of vastly overstating the initial investment in the firm, Air America now reaches 48 markets ..."
So it seems that Cohen did quite the damage. But rather than fix it they tried to cover it up and pretend it did not happen. This has such political ramifications it is amazing.
I listen to A.A. all the time. It's like having Comedy Central on the radio.
"I listen to A.A. all the time. It's like having Comedy Central on the radio."
I tried to get through a couple shows of Al Franken's.....OMG...I just about fell asleep. He has a side kick by the name of Katherine and she is from MPR ( Minnesota Public Radio) and without her I think the producers would fall asleep on the mixing board. Franken is such a mumbling idiot..sounds like he always has a mouth full of mush. And he is a horrible interviewer. Every guest he has on contradicts his foolish statements.
