All I can say is - as this situation explodes and gets some real scrutiny from Elliot Spitzer - I hope the end result is to make an explicit mockery of campaign finance law. If Air America is nothing else - it is effectively an unlimited campaign contribution from leftist sources to a permanent, loss incurring bullhorn of anti-Bush, anti-GOP diatribes. I'm perfectly happy with the right of anyone to blow millions any way they want to - including forming a train wreck like Air America. It just doesn't make sense to have a cumbersome legal regulation "campaigns", PACs, and 527's, when they are functionally indistinguishable from this radio venture - but for the lack of a named candidate.

I hope this leads to a serious effort to end the regulation of political speech in the form of campaign finance regulation - and the replacement of the current regime with unlimited contributions from citizens to candidates - run through a clearing house which simultaneously posts the cash to the campaign and discloses it via the Internet. Full, instantaneous disclosure, and no limits.

I agree about the finance reform part. I just love the irony. It is so thick you could not cut it with a chain saw.

I mean...a touted liberal organization that plans to give a challange to that mean old nasty Rush Limbaugh....lies to it's investors, tanks in the ratings even though it gets HUGE press coverage...and then to top it off they get busted for taking money from little kids and old people.....oh my.......LMAO...and then change the company name ( although it is the same owners) so they would not have to pay the money back......oh...man...my back hurts!!!!
