The Impeach Bush crowd is warming up for the big event. Democrat congressman Maurice Hinchey of New York a Hillary operative notorious for his loose lips provided some useful insights into the Democrats impeachment strategy in remarks delivered at a July 30 town hall meeting in Ithaca, New York.
Citing the Downing Street memos and the Plamegate controversy, Hinchey stated in a public forum at Ithacas Town Hall, My greatest hope is that all of these things will be revealed, they will be revealed in a very direct and legal context, and that in 2006 a Democratic majority will be elected to the House of Representatives, and in February of 2006 impeachment proceedings will begin.
Hinchey, an ultra-left Democrat, represents New Yorks 22nd Congressional District, which encompasses Cornell University and the artists colony at Woodstock, New York, scene of the 1969 music festival enshrined in countercultural legend.
Like Hillary in her 2000 Senate race, Hinchey was cross-endorsed in the 2004 election by the far-left Working Families Party a front group for the radical cult ACORN, which ACORN established in New York in 1998.

I don't want Presidente Bush impeached, just motivated. He came to office with a plan for Iraq, which as I recall from my time in the Gulf in the 90's existed prior to his election. He will travel the country pimping SS reform to the yawning masses, but he won't do a thing with the border.

It certainly does seem that Bush needs some convincing on the border control issue. Put the pressure on any way possible.

Bush better start working on his defense of "it's just about sex" to help ward off those high and mighty dems!

DEM CONGRESSMAN BLAMES "REPUBLICAN SPIN FOR $161,000 IN JUNKET MONEY
ITHACA"New York State Congressman Maurice Hinchey, recently under fire for racking up a stunning $161,393 [in free travel] footed by special-interest groups, is excusing his actions by blaming Republican spin. But a non-partisan group tells a different story.
Writing in the Ithaca Journal, Hinchey, claims that his trips, to such places as Rome, Shanghai and Morocco, are ethical because he does not consider the groups that footed the bills to be lobbyists:
"[A]ll of my privately funded trips abroad have been sponsored by well-known and highly regarded non-partisan, non-profit organizations that are dedicated to informing public policy.
Therefore, Hinchey blames Republican spin for his reputation as New York's king of comped travel.
However, according to the non-partisan website, PoliticalMoneyLine, this does not, as Hinchey implies, mean that the groups are unaffiliated with lobbyists:
"There is no legal prohibition to prevent a lobbyist from serving on the board of these organizations, and in some cases lobbyists may encourage a client to contribute to the non-profit. In some cases, serving on a non-profit's board permits the lobbyist to participate in the sponsored event or travel for Members of Congress."
In defending his actions, Hinchey also fails to mention that, while all of his foreign travel is funded by non-partisan, non-profit organizations, his domestic travel is not.
For example, PoliticalMoneyLine reports, in December, 2003, Hinchey traveled to Naples, Florida, as guest of the American Shipbuilding Association, racking up nearly $1800, in meals and lodging in that resort community.
Hinchey closes his defense of this travel by stating he plans to travel to Ithaca soon, to hold a community forum and meet with Ithaca Journal editors. No word yet on which non-partisan group will be footing the bill.

I would love for Chaney to run for president in 2008 although he says he has no interest in the job. Then Helen Thomas would be history.....Yahoooo(jumps up and clicks heels together, metaphorically speaking.)

I keep hoping that he has no interest in the job the same way he had no interest in being Vice President.I was going to mention that too but decided to leave it out for the sake of brevity. Im glad you brought it up. Because Cheney does not want to become president, that very reason would make him a great leader.

I noticed. So help me, if people on "our side" hand the likes of those idiots even one election because they want to teach everyone a lesson...grrrr.
Between that lying protesting at Crawford woman, and the "let's vote against our own interests and show everyone how pure we are" crowd I'm feeling a little testy today.

With his father Hinchey would pursue his lifelong interest in public affairs and would become leader in Ulster County politics. Hincheys father and another local partisan, Kenneth Blundell, would lead the resurgence of the Democratic Party in Hincheys hometown of Saugerties.

The reporter admitted that he retyped the memos "to protect the source" and destroyed the originals.
If the originals do not exist, the memos are completely worthless.

"Until tonight, however, no one questioned the authenticity of the documents provided by the Times of London. That has now changed, as Times reporter Michael Smith admitted that the memos he used are not originals, but retyped copies (via LGF and CQ reader Sapper):
The eight memos all labeled "secret" or "confidential" were first obtained by British reporter Michael Smith, who has written about them in The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times.
Smith told AP he protected the identity of the source he had obtained the documents from by typing copies of them on plain paper and destroying the originals.
The AP obtained copies of six of the memos (the other two have circulated widely). A senior British official who reviewed the copies said their content appeared authentic. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of the secret nature of the material.
