The Impeach Bush crowd is warming up for the big event. Democrat congressman Maurice Hinchey of New York a Hillary operative notorious for his loose lips provided some useful insights into the Democrats impeachment strategy in remarks delivered at a July 30 town hall meeting in Ithaca, New York.
Citing the Downing Street memos and the Plamegate controversy, Hinchey stated in a public forum at Ithacas Town Hall, My greatest hope is that all of these things will be revealed, they will be revealed in a very direct and legal context, and that in 2006 a Democratic majority will be elected to the House of Representatives, and in February of 2006 impeachment proceedings will begin.
Hinchey, an ultra-left Democrat, represents New Yorks 22nd Congressional District, which encompasses Cornell University and the artists colony at Woodstock, New York, scene of the 1969 music festival enshrined in countercultural legend.
Like Hillary in her 2000 Senate race, Hinchey was cross-endorsed in the 2004 election by the far-left Working Families Party a front group for the radical cult ACORN, which ACORN established in New York in 1998.

I can't take this seriously, and furthermore I think that taking it seriously gives it legitimacy and legs, although it's like a millipede, it would need more than a couple of legs to go anywhere.

Naw, I don't want any of this dilusional crap. I'm a "flat earth conservative". The border is going to ruin all the gains we've made in the last 6 years.

They might have better chances getting a hearing before the ICJ (International Court of Jokers).

I agree, rdb3. Make our day and keep'em coming:
VP=Republican
Speaker of the House=Republican
Senate Pro Tempore=Republican
By the time they're done getting to a 'rat, the country is going to impeach more of them by voting them out. lol

For the sake or argument, let us pretend Bush is impeached. They will never be sorrier than when they get Dick Chaney as President!
I would love for Chaney to run for president in 2008 although he says he has no interest in the job.

Yep, they like to hijack every thread they can. Last night they were trying to hijack several of the threads about Hiroshima.

The border is going to ruin all the gains we've made in the last 6 years. No it isn't. Despite what you and others on FR think, the problem existed long before President Bush was in office. Illegal immigration did not become a problem on January 20, 2001 and it will not disappear on January 20, 2009 no matter who the next President is.
Now why don't you post your impeachment crap in the thousands of immigration threads. Then you can have a little FR impeachment orgy.

The idiot probably meant Feb of '07. If the Dems win the House in '06, it will have to be '07 before they start impeachment proceedings. I am sure that in the unlikely event that they do win the House in the 2006 elections, the first item on their agenda will be impeachment. Even if they did win the House, nobody's going to have the stomach for impeachment because everybody and their mommas are going to be concentrating on the Holy Grail of election years - 2008.
Hinchey is just having a wet dream, that's all...

Democrat Maurice Hinchey, the N.Y. congressman who claims Karl Rove planted the CBS Rathergate memos...
Congressman Hinchey:
Now, I mean, I have my own beliefs about how that happened: it originated with Karl Rove, in my belief, in the White House. They set that up with those false papers. Why did they do it? They knew that Bush was a draft dodger. They knew that he had run away from his responsibilties in the Air National Guard in Texas, gone out of the state intentionally for a long period of time. They knew that he had no defense for that period in his life. And so what they did was, expecting that that was going to come up, they accentuated it: they produced papers that made it look even worse. And they and they distributed those out to elements of the media. And it was only what, like was it CBS? Or whatever, whatever which one Rather works for. They the people there they finally bought into it, and they, and they aired it. And when they did, they had em. They didnt care who did it! All they had to do is to get some element of the media to advance that issue. Based upon the false papers that they produced.
Audience Member: Do you have any evidence for that?
Congressman Hinchey: Yes I do. Once they did that
Audience: [Murmuring]
Congressman Hinchey:
once they did that, then it undermined everything else about Bushs draft dodging. Once they were able to say, This is false! These papers are not accurate, theyre, theyre, theyre false, theyve been falsified. That had the effect of taking the whole issue away.
Audience Member: So you have evidence that the papers came from the Bush administration?
Congressman Hinchey: No. I thats my belief.
******
Rep. Hinchey's other claim to fame is his crusade to essentially regulate conservative talk radio out of existence via the "Media Ownership Reform Act.
******
In 1999 Hinchey wrote an amendment to intelligence reauthorization legislation that forced the declassification of documents that revealed the active role the Nixon Administration --especially Henry Kissinger-- played in the illegal overthrow of Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president of Chile, in 1973.
******
He was one of the first and most outspoken opponents of the 2003 war in Iraq.
