From friends at ABC; Peter Jennings is near death. This is unconfirmed, but from usually reliable sources.
The ABC anchor, who was born in Canada but became a US citizen, announced a few months ago that he was suffering from lung cancer. He has not made a televised appearance since.

Like many here, I'm not a fan of any of the major network anchors, but I did enjoy his special on JFK last year. I'd love to have it on DVD. I didn't know he was sick, but I'm sorry to hear it.

I had felt that the last year that Peter was on ABC News, he actually was pretty fair to the Bush Campaign/Administration. Also he was the first news anchor to have a Religion reporter. I liked Peter much better than Tom or Dan.
