The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

Good morning bored. That's good news. I decided the same on the way home. My only regret will be having to leave Clyde, but I think I've found him a good home with another Freeper. My thinking is that maybe this is just a layover for Clyde on his way to an even better place. Life works that way.

I'll be going by the recruiter's office Saturday to give them my information if anything changes. I'm also going to seek an exception. Something to the effect that if I can pass the physical fitness test you have to let me in. Also have a freeper checking into some things for me.

I say let's go in on the buddy system. Would be great to go through basic with another freeper!

I'll keep you posted on any information I get.

My mistake, it was SlowBoat407 in the last thread talking about a friend "in the know", but that wasn't the incident where a date was mentioned. I'll try and find it, I don't think it was someone on the TM.

BC, it was indeed me, and my friend has had involvement in some drug ops in the past, so I don't know what his exact connections are today. I just know that when I mentioned the threat level to him, he got very serious and nodded slightly, and he said "I know. I'm getting the same information." For all I know, he could be a closet FReeper.

Thanks. I read so much sometimes I can't remember where I've seen things. It also seems relevant to me that the radical cleric from London who is under arrest in Lebanon decided to up and off for a month last week. It wouldn't surprise me if there was an attack on the financial district of London in this time frame.

I only hope that the major stock markets have redundant operations somewhere out of harm's way. I am fairly confident those are some big targets for AQ (a la "Debt of Honor"), and the biggest blow we could strike back at them would be to have our markets up and running again as if nothing had happened.

Heard a blurb on FOX news that there was some exercise going on (didn't hear where) about a simulated chemical release in a subway. Could this have been part of that exercise? I sure hope so, but I'm with ExSoldier. Something evil is on the way.

I don't think they were part of that. They weren't inside the subway area. They were outdoors at the rear entrance of Penn Station.
