NY Times investigates Judge Robert's and their children's adoption - this is offensive

The NEW YORK TIMES is looking into the adoption records of the children of Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. The TIMES has investigative reporter Glen Justice hot on the case to investigate the status of adoption records of Judge Roberts' two young children, Josie age 5 and Jack age 4, a top source reveals.

Judge Roberts and his wife Jane adopted the children when they each were infants.

Both children were adopted from Latin America.

Previously the WASHINGTON POST Style section had published a story criticizing the outfits Mrs. Roberts had them wear at the announcement ceremony.

As I was watching the morning news, I recalled from last night with Brit the discussion of the adoption of the children of Judge Robert's children.

Beyond your question, who the hell cares? Would they ask Hillary if she indeed was Chelseas' mother? If Kerry's children's mother was his former wife? I mean, why is that there is something we need to investigate of whether the Robert's got to the head of the line for adoption?

We have researched the subject, private adoption's are expensive, private adoption's differ from state to state but if you can afford it than who the hell cares' whether you move up? I cannot see what this serves? Further, adoption are private there is nothing, anywhere in our US that says you can openly reveal such names. This is an ongoing issue for many who are either looking for their adoptive parents or adoptive children. Red tape, that if you put your name on the list than you can find who it is you are looking for.

I am not shocked but just wondering why adoption receives such scrutiny. If you want to foster kids, you must be checked and monitored, but if you have kids, unless you have done something to warrant monitoring than you may never have the government in your house. Those that foster or adopt are second class folks and yet again leave it up to the left to emphasize the point. Foster and adoptive parents must take a parenting class but biological parents do nothing and some really need to take a test AND should take parenting class.

But you know, I say bring it on this kind of behavior will tick of those middle of the road and it will back fire in the next election. I say let them go on and on. Thankfully if they do, the children are still young enough to not really know this is going on, it is wrong, but hey they will shoot themselves in the foot.

Sorry this has hit a nerve on so many levels.

The family of public figures has traditionally been off-limits to media coverage. The public doesn't have the "right to know" everything and whether its the children's circumstances or their sexual (Mary Cheney comes to mind) proclivities, its no one's business. Fortunately, this sort of stupidity will only accelerate the MSM's continued decline.

I`m not sure if this has much to do with adoption specifically as it was an attempt to find if there was any chance of an underground adoption.Or if there was any person involved that had even a remote connection to baby stealing/selling rings that exist.

It was more of a hope to put a knife through Roberts heart and stop his nomination instantly while also ridiculing President Bush for good measure.

Just wondering. Where did those eggs come from that John and Elizabeth Edwards used to enlarge their family?

Both Brit and Bill Sammons were thoruoghly ticked off about this. As we all should be. But, am I surprised that the NYT would stoop to this level? Of course not.

I understand looking into to someone's background I have endured many security clearances BUT they do not ask anything more than the name of siblings not how you acquired them.

It is just wrong. What the NYT's find's out they jumped ahead of folks, prove it. They cannot find out names it would be illegal, but we are talking about the NYT's.

I really do think as I said in my first comment that this might really back fire on those twerps who feel this was needed.

Look at Bill Clinton himself, elected regardless of the many scandals he and Hillary had under their belts.
He got to be president.

I'm sure Roberts underwent plenty of scrutiny last time around...that's not enough for the obstructionist party.
We already know their love for children, sarcasm off>.

You offer an excellent theory and plausible. But, as I read your comments I think if I am just dumb struck by this behavior how will this sit with those reading the morning paper?

I say let them go had the kids been a bit older I would have said stop (like they 'ed listen) but at their age I do not think they understand if they heard it.

But, just that, 2 toddler's and the NYT seems to think this is OK. Makes one want to take another shower.

just wondering why adoption receives such scrutiny.

It's not adoption, per se. It's the fact that there's something (anything) unusual. It's something to investigate.

It didn't get to Drudge by accident, either. An "investigation" implies suspicion. These folks did something that you, Joe and Jane Average, cannot get away with. Because they have connections to right-wing Nazi homophobic, warmongering reckless tax-cutting groups, they got away with it.

That was an excellent conversation and I think the one gentleman Jeff I think, admitted his lack of knowledge on the legal side of the issue and seemed to agree with Brit and Bill but I cannot recall the position the chick took.

Good segment.

Thanks for the comment.

Please provide names of "right-wing Nazi homophobic, warmongering reckless tax-cutting groups"... Some of us might like to join.

That diatribe about the children's clothes should tell all of America about the TRUE SIC BIAS of the old lying liberal media. That was DISGUSTING!!!

****

The old Dem./liberal/socialist media is America's most ruthless, relentless, and destructive enemy.

I imagine they came from a couple of women who, for whatever reason, decided they weren't going to kill their babies, but give them up for adoption. Maybe you could tell us what the point of your question is.

If this were not one of the most important appointment's in one's Presidency I would just laugh.

But, you know I am still laughing because these are the type of things that those who are middle of the road, who have little patience for rude and careless reporting that when it comes time to go to the poll, they will say do I want folks like this in the White House?

I say let them shoot themselves in the foot.

Thanks for the comment.

Well at least now we know why the New York Times has not had time to deal with AIR AMERIKA.

They have been too busy chasing after adoption papers.

Isn't adopting orphans a good thing? Only Liberals would attempt to smear someone this way. The rag should go bankrupt.
