These ads are all over the subways and trains in Boston. I avert my eyes so quickly when I see them that I didn't even know they were intended to sell soap until I read this story. I thought they were selling underwear for "plus-size" girls.

It looks like the pictures in post #1 have been stretched horizontally. Was that really necessary? If you'll read the whole article, you'll learn that these ladies aren't anywhere near plus sized. They are size 6 - 12, and the average US woman is size 12 - 14. These women are normal and healthy instead of being Lindsay Lohan Anorexic!

"Really, the only time I want to see a thigh that big is in a bucket with bread crumbs on it." ROFLMAO!!!
Somewhere out there is a marketing researcher who proudly told Dove, "You know, fat chicks spend a lot of money on beauty products and there are a lot of fat chicks out there these days..."
It's all about target markets.
They had a poster sized add for that product in the locker room of my gym. It kind of creeped me out.

Plus-sized women are beautiful. I guess the majority of FReepers prefer the skeletal, waif look.

Interesting that you would stretch the photos. I went to the Dove website to see what they really look like. I didn't see any fat women. Most of them are attractive.

Here are your photos, without the stretching.

I hadn't seen these signs in Las Vegas but I was in NYC in mid-July and saw them all over the place. Disgusting! I am a strong advocate of young, fit, goodlooking women in states of undress.
This ad campaign is stomach turning! :-)

I may be in a minority here but I think real women are often very beautiful. Grossly obese women are not but starved stick-figures are a turn-off too.
