Little Caesars Helps Injured Soldier Open Franchise

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Little Caesars pizza owner Mike Ilitch first heard about Robbie Doughty through a newspaper article in November, just a few months after the U.S. soldier lost two legs in Iraq.

Ilitch, who owns the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings, said it reminded him of an injury that curtailed his baseball career.

So he had a Little Caesars executive track down the soldier and offer him a chance to open a franchise in Paducah.

Sunday, Ilitch flew to Paducah to visit Doughty, 30, and his partner, Tennessean Lloyd Allard, 45, who recently retired after 23 years in the Army.

Neither party would reveal how much financial support Ilitch is providing to get the franchise started but Allard says the company has been "very generous."

Now that's generous. We should all order pizza from Little Caesar's to express our gratitude for them supporting our troops.

My children are allowed to pick a fast food once a month. We never have eaten from Little Caesars before.

I'm going to look for one now. They will be the fast food choice now ^-^

Did we need to know this?

Why wouldn't they include in the article about the owner meeting with new personnel of the company?
