A year ago, the liberal group America Coming Together was on the cutting edge of national politics, spending tens of millions of dollars on a massive voter-mobilization project in every presidential battleground state.
The dream was that ACT -- heavily funded by billionaire George Soros -- would play a decisive role in getting Democratic nominee John F. Kerry elected president and then remain in business as a permanent force in liberal politics.
Steve Rosenthal, who launched America Coming Together to mobilize voters for Democrat John F. Kerry, said maintaining momentum after the election proved to be harder than expected. Billionaire George Soros's heavy funding of the group ended after the election. Steve Rosenthal, who launched America Coming Together to mobilize voters for Democrat John F. Instead, the group this week began sending e-mails to most of the 28 people who make up the remaining ACT staff warning that their paychecks would stop at the end of August. All the state offices have been, or are soon to be, closed.

All the money in the world couldn't get Kerry elected. I hope Soros wastes $$ on the next nominee too.

Awww...that's too bad. I was hoping ol' George Soros would keep wasting his money on that fool's game.
I guess ol' Johnny Traitor better cut up his credit card!

LOL....Soros only spends money in attempts to win elections. He doesn't waste his money on offices filled with unproductive leftist idiots. Now that the election is over, these staffers are no longer "useful idiots."

What's the matter? Doesn't having a multi-billionaire donor on their side guarantee success?

Doesn't having a multi-billionaire donor on their side guarantee success? Apparently not. And judging from the looks of things, neither does three Purple Hearts. ;o)

"It has proven much tougher to sustain this as something year-round than we had anticipated,"That is what the Democrats in Congress and the MSM are trying to do, keep a steady drum beat of scandal going while trying to delay, delay, delay Bush's agenda so that the Republicans will have no successes to point to. It is the DNC strategy leading up to 2008. It seems to be hurting them more than the Republicans and Bush's agenda seems to be gaining steam along with the economy.
It is beautiful when a plan comes together.
