American Journalist Found Dead in Iraq
08/03 12:48a CDT BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP)

An American freelance journalist was found dead in the southern Iraqi city of Basra, the U.S. Embassy said Wednesday.

Police said Steven Vincent had been shot multiple times after he and his Iraqi translator were abducted at gunpoint hours earlier.

"I can confirm to you that officials in Basra have recovered the body of journalist Steven Vincent," said embassy spokesman Pete Mitchell. "The U.S. Embassy is working with British military and local Iraqi officials in Basra to determine who is responsible for the death of this journalist. Our condolences go out to the family."

Iraqi police in Basra said Vincent was abducted along with his female translator at gunpoint Tuesday evening. The translator, Nour Weidi, was seriously wounded.

God rest his soul.

Even ABC radio news inferred he wasn't in bed with the bad guys, as most journos are.

"But you can only experience fear for so long; eventually, you want to fight back. How dare these bearded maniacs threaten all that we value and hold dear!" - Steven Vincent

God Bless. May he Rest in Peace,

I don't think it's possible for America to win the hearts and minds of muslum people. They give too much authority to their religious leaders who are corrupt and full of hate.We liberate the Iraqi people from Saddam and they turn around and replace him with with a new oppressor that wears a dress instead of a military uniform.I only hope that we finish training the Iraqi military so it can take over and we can get out without many more causalities.

That's what I was talking about. In an interview he gave to National Review, he talks about Nour and says he cannot give her last name because they are after her for her activism.

Now that she was with him when he died and the article posted her name that she was wounded, her last name is now out.

Sorry, I didn't make myself too clear above.

No surprise given the sub-human butchers in Iraq. R.I.P. Steven Vincent.

Overall & unfortunately we can't win the vast majority for numerous reasons, to reaching for the goal of tangible freedom in working toward a real republic.

While there are many Iraqi's sick and tired of the ex-Saddam killers, the Wahhabist psychopaths & Shi'ite armed madmen, but all it takes is one, just one determined, insane, brainwashed jihadist, regardless of the sect of Islam, strapped with enough explosives to inflict death & horrible injuries, and 10, 20, 50 or more Iraqis attempting to clean out their nation of these jihadic robots are massacred, and many more injured for life in more ways then one.

Even if we sufficiently train more then the required Iraqi military & civil police forces, if the rouge régimes in Damascus & Tehran are not toppled the Islamic terrorist plague will rapidly seize control of Baghdad, in similar to the way the North Vietnamese Red horde did when American forces evacuated from Saigon. It's not one rotten apple, the whole barrel is rotten in terms of the majority of Iraq's bordering states.

The ultimate debauched goal of the Islamic terrorist enemy is to exterminate everyone in the world which refuses to submit to their political & 'religious' perversity & blind rage.

from the blog
It was a moment I wish every muddle-headed college kid and Western-civilization-hating leftist could have witnessed: an Air Force Captain quoting chapter and verse from the new American Gospel of Multiculturalism, only to have a flesh and blood representative of "the Other" declare that he was incorrect, that discriminations and judgment between cultures are possible--necessary--especially when it comes to the absolutely unacceptable way Middle Eastern Arabs treat women. And though Layla would not have pushed the point this far, I couldn't resist. "You know, Captain," I said, "sometimes American values are just--better."

This reporter was a conservative and was likely committing the sin of reporting the truth out of Iraq. I can't help but wonder if it was a member of the MSM that had him "whacked" for doing so. < /sarc>

The scumbag, cappuccino-drinking, loafer-wearing MSM reporters who hang out in the bar at the Al-Rasheed synchronizing which lies they're going to report each day are likely very opposed to anyone telling the truth from over here.

I just checked. You're right.

It must have accidentally taken a right when it was on its way to DU and gotten lost.

I believe any investigation regarding this incident should take a good hard look on the fact that the female translator's life was spared. Could be nothing...

I thought I smelled ozone in here.

I see some cat fur on the furniture, too.
