Breaking News from CFRB 1010AM News Radio - Toronto
Airliner on fire on the ground at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Unclear as to cause. Announcers asking for updates from motorists in the region on HWY 401. Report says great deal of smoke. I have to go into a meeting shortly but I'll listen for updates as long as I can.

"Just as we landed the lights turned off and that's unusual. I'm sure the bad weather was responsible," (passenger Roel) Bramar said. Dunno how many A340s Mr. Bramar has been on, but evidence that lights-out on landing isn't routine.

Actually, I was pulling some info from the Air Transport World yearly World Airline Report that I have on my desk. Go back a few years and read the magazine, I was interviewed for an article in it. It was pretty cool.
The runway was 24, not 25, sorry, I lay prostrate at your feet oh ultimate library of wisdom.
Now, in a very nice way, slag off.

"The jet ended up in the Etobicoke Creek ravine ..."
It stopped about 100 meters or so short of the ravine proper or the outcome would have been much more dire. It's in more of a shallow ditch that separates the runway and the artificial berm visually shielding it from Highway 401.

Do you people not realize that 9-11 itself would not have been acknowledged unless it was ablsolutely 100% obvious? If there had been just the one plane, don't you udnerstand that the government would have said it was 'pilot error' or a 'suicidal pilot'. Well, DUH. Why do you think Freepers are unaware of that?

Why do you suppose the Candian Government did not allow any helicopter press coverage of the incident?I'm guessing the severe thunderstorms in the vicinity had something to do wtih that...

"BTW, is it OK to now raise the possibility that the Air France plane simply surrendered upon touchdown?"
No.
Because if it is really true that after that landing that everybody got off the plane alive, including the injured, before the plane blew up it's got to mean that the French Flight Attendants were doing something very right and very brave.

If I'm in wind shear, I don't want to be in any plane! Or at least any plane less than 1000 feet above the ground.

The bilderbergers were behind this crash, the plane was full of illuminati on their way to meet up with Skull and Bones and make way to the Bohemian Grove meeting!
Its all so simple!

It was at Teterboro,NJ after the CO crash. Challenger was reported to be grossly out of balance with the CG too far aft and it didn't lift off properly and crew aborted takeoff(obviously too too late) and it skidded across Rt 46 and nose first into a building.

Yep, as I thought, you are the type that loves to dish but can't take it when you screw up yourself.
Then you rely on attacking someone for pointing out your own False words.
Slag off is the best you can do... That's pretty pathetic.
You know for someone who's profile implies you support the theory of evolution, you sure run from facts when you can.
Runway Numbers and Aircraft Configurations are pretty scientific facts, unlike the flaws in evolution.
I think you need new sources, as it seems whatever you are using is pretty messed up information, which you seem to want to believe without verification. No wonder you support Evolution. lol

Well hopefully since they were at somewhat of an incline in that ditch the jump wasn't as bad as it could be. If the plane is on fire I'm jumping.
On MSNBC Ed Pinto former FAA official said that if they had a wider area around and at the end of the runway (more than 600 feet) this would have just been an embarrassing incident rather than a major one.
Reminds me somewhat of the Southwest plane that ran through the fence at Burbank airport in Califonria and almost went into a gas station. Ended without injuries IIRC.

You agree, no? :) I agree, yes. :^D
As for the crash, how can anyone possibly begin to comprehend how one would feel to be on that plane and be able to talk about it afterward?
Mindboggling!
