Breaking News from CFRB 1010AM News Radio - Toronto

Airliner on fire on the ground at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Unclear as to cause. Announcers asking for updates from motorists in the region on HWY 401. Report says great deal of smoke. I have to go into a meeting shortly but I'll listen for updates as long as I can.

It's has a full size bed, it's just a little lower and much faster than the standard F-150. :)

Excuse me, but I do consider myself an expert on airplane crashed.

I saw both The Poseidon Adventure and Titanic.

LOL. I read on Airliners.net that Wolf Blitzer called the plane a "Seven Three Thirty Seven." Oy.

YYZ is also the Base Line from that song in Morse Code.

Y= -.--

Z= --..

YYZ=-.---.----..

I don't mind going if its my time. But what if it's the pilot's time?!

If it's not also your time, you'll miss the flight. :-)

No fatalities according to Canadian authorities.

With 291 on board, that would be close to a miracle. Fingers crossed.

But I honestly don't know how they would know this, this early.

Global TV reporting - no deaths - many injuries

That is a miracle--I was listening to CNN and they had a report by an eyewitness, he was parked on the highway right next to the crash site, and he said the plane just sailed right off the landing strip, broke in half, and then just "seconds" later, it burst into flames.

Well, if the reported landing time of 4:07 is correct, then it was more than 20 minutes before CNN got its camera shot on the air (and they had video about 15 minutes before FNC and MSNBC). That's a long time, so the flames may not have been very bad at first.

Gibson on FNC was saying something about the flight crew possibly not knowing about how bad the weather was. Does that airport have doppler radar? A windshear warning system? If so, how could that info not be communicated to the flight crew?

MSNBC reporting that area hospitals alerted to expect influx of patients, but so far, no word that any have been sent to the hospitals.

you just make crap up to serve your silly theories. like what? Tell me what I made up. You are so in love with the party line that now you are accusing me of making things up. Tell me what I made up. The answer is that I have made nothing up. Yet you attack. You are the problem.

There must be hundreds of relieved family members thanking God as we speak.

CP24: Plane came in too high, then abruptly dropped to the runway with possibly the tires exploding before the actual landing, this per a cell phone call from a passenger on board.
