Has anyone seen any polls?
I have no idea why I'm even bothering with someone like you, because we both know my answer will be like water on a duck's back. But here goes.
To answer the second part of your question first - yes, my answer would be the same. Because this little special election will have no bearing on the '06 Senate races. How so? The GOP is stomping the Dems in fundraising, it has less debt, and the Dems are defending more Senate seats in Bush territory than the GOP is in Kerry terriroty. The economy is now very strong, and I see no signs of a significant let-up over the next year. Oh, and off-Presidential election years tend to favor the Pubbies.
Funny, everyone else on this board was estatic that Schmidt beat "frontrunner" RINO Pat DeWine in the PRIMARY and sent a message to his dear daddy. Yet you want to "punish" a pro-life, pro-gun, reliable conservative candidate for doing EXACTLY what freepers asked: overtake the DeWine wing of the party in the primary.
Hmmm.
Ooh - I hadn't heard that. I knew that the two aren't very friendly but for DiFi to buck Senate custom speaks volumes. And the idiot Boxer goes and grabs a Republican - LOL!
Anybody know why precincts like these stay unreported so long? It's 2005. They should get it done by this time.
A guaranteed winner, for sure. But first we have to see if Allen can hold on to his Senate seat when Warner decides to jump in and steal it from him. Behind in the polls in VA, last I heard.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Good point, Lincoln won the non-binding popular vote but lost in the state legislature.
They are morons at DU:
29. The Freeps aren't covering this at all
I admit, I have no idea how to navigate the site. But, a search for "Hackett" only turns up a post from July 31.
If they are Democratic precincts, its so they know how many votes they need to manufacture.
I dont think Warner will jump in and go after Allen.....if he were to lose, he'd be out of the 2008 Pres contention.
They haven't been updated in a while, but Schmidt leads by about 900 with only about half of precincts from Claremont remaining. So far she is carrying this county by 56-44%. It's her home county, I think.
And what a coincidence, Republicans run the state except for the 3 counties in the south end of the state.
Bush should have never won.
Though was it not ratified under Clinton, with Clinton support?
I can name a candidate who lost a house seat, became a governor, and then became president . . . his initials are GWB . . .
Noted a few Doom and Gloom (D&G) types on this thread. Would sure hate to always think the sky is falling! In a special election the turnout is pretty good for 2 August.
When a RAT has to run as a Republican lite, the RATs are in big trouble. Same thing happened here in OK in the Carson/Coburn race but Coburn pulled way away on election day thanks to the coat tails of the President.
don't try and use any common sense now.
you are aware that in 1993-94 the GOP won a series of special elections held by DEMS?
"Oh, and off-Presidential election years tend to favor the Pubbies."
Yeah 1986 was just great for the GOP
the numbers haven't changed in a while.
DU says they;re printing them as the go.
It's so much fun beating these people. Especially when it was so close for them, they could taste it.

It also describes a President whose initials are WJC (Imp.)
He ran for the NW Arkansas seat in the House of Representatives in 1974 and lost.
