Democratic presidential hopeful Wesly Clark is now appearing on Fox to trash the president for his recess appointment of John Bolton. He predicted that Bolton would have a difficult time because of the lack of senatorial support.

Every time Weasley Clark is on Fox, I email them to say they forced me to switch channels. I did that this morning and suggested they transfer him to their French bureau; sure he'd feel right at home there. Weasley is more concerned with "friendships" with foreign countries than with caring for America. Maybe more emails will let Fox reconsider their hiring of Weasley.

He'll tell it like it is. The U.S. had more influence that you might believe when it comes to reforms.

Now, that said, the only real reform I'd be happy with would be total reform and/or eliminating it....so I won't be happy.

Bolton has the President's support... everything else is noise now. (and most of the noise is the sound of losers)

I would disagree on that, but that's my opinion. I doubt that, given the contempt that both Bush and Bolton have expressed for the UN in the past, the orgainization is willing to listen to or work with anyone Bush might send. In think that the UN is a lost cause for this administration. IMHO, I far more effective message could have been sent by refusing to fill the post in the first place.

The DamRats did not let Bolton have an up or down vote because (1) they knew he would win and they did not what him to go to the UN and (2) because they did not want to have to go on record as having voted against him.

So Bush gave Bolton the appointment and at the same time giving the DamRats an UP YOURS vote.

Actually, his effectiveness will be determined more by the degree of support he has from the President and SOS, after all, we are talking about a foreign policy position.

Thank goodness for TIVO. I keep enough of a buffer on Fox so that I can fast forward right on by the likes of Clark. Why did Fox-News hire him? You know what he is going to say.

And Bob Beckel. I can never watch him either. While I am on my rant, I turned over to MSNBS the other day out of curiosity and there was Ron Reagan as Anchor. I quickly changed channels before he uttered a word.

Wes is an expert on lacking support. After all, how many votes did he get in the primaries last year? About 3??

Does making a "mistake" disqualify Bolton from going to the UN?

In that case, I'll expect the resignations of Ted Kennedy, Joseph Biden, Senator Sheets Byrd, Chris Dodd, Leaky Leahy, etc, immediately.

Thank God there is a mute button on my TV. I always use it when I see this moron on the tube. I think Fox made a big mistake hiring this POS as an analyst.

No. Unless you happen to be one of these people: "Ted Kennedy, Joseph Biden, Senator Sheets Byrd, Chris Dodd, Leaky Leahy, etc"

Depends. If by successful you mean providing the leadership that takes the UN to a new plateau and implements the reforms that the administration believes the UN needs then I think you'll be disappointed. I don't think that any of the countries at the UN are hankering for US leadership, nor are they conivinced that they need reforming. Bolton will be a voice in the wilderness.

Frankly, I could care less if the UN gets reformed. A strong voice calling the UN to task for its corruption and ineptness would help in greasing the skids in this organization's slide toward the dustbin of history.

That says it all.

Why does a man who proudly wore the uniform for most of his adult life now spend every waking moment dumping on America?

BS. Bolton represents the US, which means he speaks on behalf of the President of the US. In some ways, Bolton will be more influential given the special appointment and obvious direct connections to the President and Condi.

It is the golden rule, i.e., he who has the gold rules. The US is the UN's biggest contributor. Does anyone think that the UN administration or delegates from other countries are going to ignore or not deal with Bolton? This is nonsense.

I heard it's because he was hopeful Bush would appoint him to a post early in his administration. But Bush wasn't interested. Good call W.
