I was most impressed by Buford's keen debating style when responding to the leftists.

It was definitely worth fighting Friday evening traffic to have that soldier jump out of his friend's car just to shake all our hands and thanks us (how ironic!) for being there. [emphasis added]Having that soldier shake my and everyone else's hand made it all worthwhile, Bill!
It was also fun offering advice to the Goober in the JC Penny's siut every time he stepped into traffic or stuck his head inside cars trying to get inside Walter Wonderful.
How sad and pathetic to endanger himself and traffic to try to get his "Message" across. Especially when so many people did not want to hear it!
Jack.

We would be honored to have you and your significant other join us.
I assume that you would want a hotel/motel room and maybe see some sites in DC when you are here.
I don't think that the shirts would be a problem, but the focus of signs should be pretty much limited to two things: support for our troops including support for their missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and opposition to Code Pink.
For example, a sign congratulating John Bolton as the new UN ambassador would not be encouraged at this venue (too far afield from the focus), even though we would all agree with the sign.
The leftists, in attempting to falsely portray themselves as pro-troop, have muddled messages about all sorts of issues at this location.
They have to do that because the Pinkos are trying to conceal their evil scheme. Pinkos want to fake friendship with soldiers in hopes of finding one or more who, vulnerable in their wounded state, can be manipulated into joining the anti-war movement and breaking faith with their fellow troops. The Pinkos other goal is too demoralize those wounded troops.

Thanks for some great comments.
I just hope that a lot of FReepers, who live a lot closer to DC than you do, could get 1/10th of your dedication. Maybe your travails will inspire some?

Standing on that corner fills me with such pride in our Military, our country, the American people, and gives me great hope for our future.
I look forward to it after a week full of negatives!

Awesome work!! It is important that our wounded see supportive faces instead of just Code Pinkos doing a blood dance. It hard to imagine that people can be so morally repugnant. These people are so morally bankrupt that they can't comprehend what is socially acceptable. Please folks if you can go on Friday nights to support our troops please go. You will feel much better for it.</p>

I'm thinking about coming out this Friday night. Are you doing both FReeps or just the one at Walter Reed? Even though I've lived in this area most of my life, I still get nervous going places around here when I haven't been there before, especially at rush hour. Where does everybody park? What road is the recruiting station on? If they haven't moved in the last 7 years, I believe I was there when my son joined the Marine Corps reserves when he was 17 but that was the only time. Anyway, any info you can give me would be appreciated.

Just the Walter Reed FReep this Friday night. The leftists are NOT going to the Recruitment Center, or at least they haven't mentioned it on their web sites.
We are NOT going to the Recruiting Station, which is on Georgia Ave, but Walter Reed is on Georgia Ave about a mile south of the Recruiting Station.
FReepmail me your location details (e.g., Falls Church, Takoma Park) if you wish. I know where most people are coming from and it's possible that a ride could be arranged.
Here are the details of the Friday night event.
Start at 7:30 pm and go to about 10 pm.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW, Washington, DC
Click for map of the location
Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate.
If you take the Metro subway, you would go to the Takoma Station on the red line. You should probably try to get to the Takoma Station at around 7:15 to 7:30 pm.
Although you can walk to our location, it is better if you have one of us give you a ride, especially if you are alone.
If you want to do Metro, FReepmail me right away. I can FReepmail you some cell phone numbers that you can use to call us when you get to Takoma Station.

In addition the particular counter-recruitment action and FReeps discussed above, the left are mounting a campaign of letters to school boards and other actions specifically designed to cripple military recruitment.
Below are some addresses detailing the left's counter-recruitment efforts. Cut and paste into your browser window, lest they get links which elevate their places on search engines.

I'm thinking about coming out this Friday night.Good for you! I'm gonna be in Wisconsin this Friday, so I need someone to stand for me. You'll do fine, and hopefully Bill can help you with a ride. But if not, street parking in the adjacent neighborhoods is a breeze. Thanks for coming out, and bring a friend!
