Ickes: Look at Hillary's Record
NewsMax ^ | 7/30/05 | Limbacher

The mastermind of Hillary Clinton's successful 2000 Senate race is urging the Democratic Party's liberal wing not to be upset over her alliance with the moderate Democratic Leadership Council, assuring critics that Hillary is still a left-winger at heart.

"It's much more important to look at what she does and how she votes, and not that she has associated herself with the DLC," Harold Ickes told the Washington Times on Friday.

Ickes reminded that Bill Clinton also came under fire from party liberals for his more centrist rhetoric. But they stuck with him because "his record in totality was extraordinarily progressive."

Ickes was responding to complaints from liberals this week, who went wild after Mrs. Clinton's Monday speech to the DLC.

"By aligning herself with the DLC, it is pretty well guaranteed that there will be somebody running for the [2008 presidential] nomination to her left," said Roger Hickey, co-director of the liberal group Campaign for America's Future. "She is going to have to choose between the DLC and the progressive activist base of the party," he warned.

In fact, Mrs. Clinton has a 95 percent rating with the liberal group Americans for Democratic Action. The American Conservative Union, meanwhile, gave Clinton a zero rating for her 2004 Senate votes. Her career ACU rating is just 9.

Still, while trying to assure critics that Hillary hadn't wandered completely off the liberal reservation, Ickes took pains not to paint her into a radical corner.

"It's hard to characterize her as an extreme liberal," he insisted to the Times. "She has a lot of progressive and liberal support, but Hillary is moderate in many of her positions."

Progressive is the code word for Neocom (Neo-Communist). Remember Hillary paraphrased Marx in her San Francisco speech a few months ago... (paraphrase) We are going to take more from those of you who enjoy the benefits of our society and transfer to those who don't have as much...

and insure they vote for us because we are the nipple that they suck on for their "success"

She IS a Michael Moore Democrat . As left as they get .Believe the left knows it's a game to get her more votes. When she speaks to leftist groups she assures them of her real intentions. The Clinton name is worshiped by millions of fools here. She has a VERY good chance of being president ..God help us all.

Yes and no. Remember, step one is to get the nomination. For a DIM that means shoring up the wacko Berkenstock types.

You are forgetting Bill, and it is he who will drag them, screaming and cursing into the camp, just like he did 2 times before.

Translation: she's lying to everyone.

Living next door to Ark. we have been following the political antics of the Clinton's for over 25 years. I can assure you that she would not be a clone of Bill, but much more extreme. He is as phony as they come, but she actually believes all of that socialism crap. Much more dangerous.

Ickes is so warped, he even looks it...

I have noticed there is a definite distinction in physical appearance to pervert liberals. A lot of people laugh, but I can pick them out in a crowd with uncanny accuracy to the amazement of many...

Although I'd love to be able to agree with you %100, I'm not safely convinced that America won't be fooled by Hillary. Bush had a serious fight the last election, and lost the popular vote in 2000. This seems to me to indicate that if Gore and Kerry are able to put up a formidable fight, then Hillary dam sure will be able to. The next election, which I think we can most all agree will pit some republican almost assuredly against Hillary who has all the needed connections with the liberal MSM working for her and NOT for the right. The "New Media" like Free Republic, and citizens such as the Swift Boat Vets for truth will have to work overtime to keep reminding people of the real truth about Hitlary in the next election. Make no mistake about it, Hillary Clinton is an extremely DANGEROUS candidate, and must be willing to do all we can, educate and inform all we can, until another republican takes the reins from Bush in 2009.

She IS a Michael Moore Democrat .

I know that, but since she is pretending not to be one, the issue is whether another MM Dem who is not pretending will run against her in the primaries. Then Hillary will either have to wink and nod real hard, or the lying pinko will lose to the honest pinko.

Is my memory mixed up or was Ickes busy in 2000 losing to Libby Dole in the North Carolina Senate race? How could he have been Hillary's "mastermind" in her race? Or maybe it was '96 or '98 in NC?

You are so right.

Bill has no core values. He is a sociopathic chameleon.

Hill, as you said, is a true believer, a Marxist to the core. And that religious like fervor is also part of her belief that she is the chosen one to lead the new socialism.
