A little birdie says Frist traded Stem Cells for Specter's support for expedited Roberts hearings.

Posted on 07/29/2005 3:10:35 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

I've got nothing more to add, but the 'birdie' has not steered me wrong yet. I post what I was told for discussions sake, if the Mods dont want it, they know what to do with it.

Orrin Hatch on Fox News right now...and he just said that Pres. Bush believes in life, so why would he want to deny research that would help scientists find cures for diseases that LIVE people have???

What a stupid question!

Federal money for medical research is the same as money laundering for campaign donations.

[Frist? How many active senators ever made it into the White House, I wonder...]

Senators Who Became President

To date, fifteen senators have gone onto serve in the nation's highest elected office, the presidency. Two senators, Warren G. Harding and John F. Kennedy, moved directly from the U.S. Senate to the White House.  You can make a bit of a case for Johnson & Johnson and Truman as they went from Senator directly to VP and then President.

Other than the infantile tantrum of a filibuster, why is it the Dems get a say in when a final vote might be taken.

Frist is running for President.

Fogettaboutit Senator, turncoats don't get to be president if we know what they are beforehand. I don't discount the rumor that Frist made a deal with Specter. Anything Specter touches seems to turn to crap, including other Senators.

Thought it was pretty rare.

*sigh* I know I'm pipe dreaming about Fred Thompson, but I keep hoping.

Really? Well apparently the hearings fell through. So if this is true it appears they screwed him as he screwed us.

Does it really matter if the embryos aren't created for research, but just salvaged for research?

Sacrificed his career, eh?

Especially if he expects to run for President. I don't know who advised him to follow this idiotic path but he's finished his political career, IMO. I have never liked the guy in the first place. He has always been a little strange to me.

When I saw all those old prunes, with their faces as smooth as a baby's butt, lined up today to talk about taking the life of the unborn to make THEIR LIVES BETTER makes me sick. Can you imagine taking the life of a child to make more hair plugs for Joe Biden or a better face lift for Boxer, Pelosi, Feinstein and Clinton?

EVERYTHING IS ALL ABOUT THEM!

Perfect examples of the "ME GENERATION".

Pukin Dog,

Where are you getting all this inside information? Are you sleeping with Nancy Pelosi?

Frist may as well write off the pro-life voters. Lots of luck winning a Presidential election without them.

So, whose advice did he take? Ron & Nancy Reagan?

You can tell who the "ME FIRST" people are. We're supposed to put THEIR LIVES ahead of the lives of the unborn. As much as I would like a cure for many things but I'm not willing to take it from someone who doesn't get a say in the matter.
