This morning, Friday, while driving to work, and listening to Chicago NPR (91.5 FM), about 7:35 am, a person was talking about the Chicago pharmacy strike (Walgreens), (I didn't hear his name perfectly, but it was something like "Tony Serave" or "Seravio"), and the theme was that unions "might be losing their power" because the strike was called off and the pharmacists went back to work. During this piece, I was surprised to suddenly hear Tony say "for example, on the blog web site Free Republic, a person named ...... " (here the person's name sounded something like "Souer").
I've done a little searching through Free Republic but I can't find a discussion about unions that includes a name similar to Souer, and I have to get back to work, but thought you all might like to know this happened this morning.
Maybe it was Siggy.
and FR is a discussion board, not a blog. Huge difference.
Ooooh, that will have the libs hissing and making the sign of the Evil Eye at their radios...
Indeed! I wish the MSM would quit calling us a blog. This is first and foremost a news site, and secondly a discussion board.
"I wish the MSM would quit calling us a blog"
Patience. They're still trying to figure out that internet-thingy ;)
To the MSM, a "blog" is a catch-all term for an Internet based new medium they don't understand and can't control, but recognize as the EVIL ENEMY...
If that is an accurate quote, then I am surprised that they only mischaracterized us as a "blog". Usually several adjectives precede "Free Republic", such as "ultra Conservative, RW extremists, etc.
Sounds like an improvement to me!
My question is, why were you listening to NPR? LOL Don & Roma not good enough for you? Bill Bennett?
Except we aren't a blog. We're a forum
you missed my point.
You have to remember these clowns are not all that bright.
We've been called worse.
"My question is, why were you listening to NPR?"
I love to listen to NPR. What passes for 'news' is absolutely hysterical-they are so far out, it's self parody. Nothing makes liberals look more laughable than they do themselves.
I happen to switch back and forth to gather information widely.
It was interesting because I wasn't really paying close attention, and suddenly I caught the FR reference, and I noticed he was saying it with the sort of tone as if he assumed everyone knew what it was, and that it sort of ranked up in the top ranks of "blogger" sites, and he was assigning it the level of importance that people should pay attention to what the writer "Souer" was saying.
I'm glad I was listening right then....
Yeah, that's great - I was just kidding.
But, I blogged on this forum! Or, did I discuss on this blog! Yes, you're correct, this is a forum!
.
Blogs = HILLARY trying to shut down political discussion during Presidential Campaigns thru campaign finance law and the courts
Internet Forum = Freerepublic.com
HILLARY trying to shut us down by having the Media she controls brand us a "BLOG"
Just wait until they figure out they can register, come on here and say something unsourced, outlandish, or extreme, then go back and quote it themselves -- all the while maintaining plausible deniability that their source was actually them. They can do it to make FR look extreme or to move a story along that doesn't have proper sources. Anyway, never trust a reporter who quotes from an open forum.
