If Vice President Cheney is indeed a serious darkhorse candidate for president in 2008, as Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward recently suggested, he probably wont want to enlist legendary White House reporter Helen Thomas to help with his press relations, even though she has proposed a campaign strategy he could run on.
Thomas, a syndicated columnist for Hearst Newspapers who has covered the White House since the Kennedy administration, wrote in May that Cheney certainly could campaign on the theme that he has had experience in running the White House.
Thomas made the suggestion in a column she wrote about President Bushs not being notified about a terror scare caused by an off-course Cessna airplane until after it was over, according to Editor & Publisher magazine.
Declaring that the incident again raises the question of whos running the show, Thomas also noted Cheneys central role on Sept. 11 and the widely held view that he is probably the most powerful vice president in recent times, perhaps in U.S. history.
But asked this week if she is promoting a Cheney candidacy, Thomas made it clear she isnt.
The day I say Dick Cheney is going to run for president, Ill kill myself, she told The Hill. All we need is one more liar.
Thomas added, I think hed like to run, but it would be a sad day for the country if he does.

The day I say Dick Cheney is going to run for president, Ill kill myself, she told The Hill. All we need is one more liar. It's so funny. They are the ones who have no compunctions about lying, as evidenced by their hostility toward religion. IOW No God, no consequences for lying (or adultery, or abortion, or anything else for that matter).

Let's get this straight, she'll kill herself rather than to see Cheney as President but they will try to "impeach" Bush? Thomas, I have a bullet if you need to use it!

Correction: toward theistic religion, as they are indeed rabid zealots of the religion of secular Humanism.

Ahhhhhhhh, Helen, Helen, Hell-en (hehe)....all this venom simply because Dick doesn't pat your bum and invite you over for cocktails? Maybe pizza? Shiiiiiiiiiiiucks, sweetie, it just isn't party time when the grown-ups are in office, is it? Bet ya miss those good ol klintons, hey, with all the gooky, swarmy back room get togethers and tidbits of scoops meant to keep ya happy and writing those positive reports. Darn it.
You really are missing the WH, aren't ya girl? Go over to visit ol Hillary right there off Massachusetts Ave and take in the WH memorabilia she stole (I'm sure she still has some of it) and perhaps your yearnings will be satisfied.

Call me naive but I thought that reporters were supposed to be neutral. Same with newspapers and the MSM.
There must be a bias against Conservatives in the MSM after all.
