Lawrence Sidney Eagleburger
(August 1, 1930-) was born in Milwaukee. Described as a career diplomat, Eagleburger joined the Foreign Service in 1957 and held a series of embassy, State Department, national security, and Defense Department posts before serving as Ambassador (1977-81) to Yugoslavia. He was a State Department Assistant Secretary (1981-82) and Undersecretary (1982-84) before serving as Deputy Secretary of State (1989-92) and Secretary of State (1992-93) under President George Herbert Walker Bush, becoming the first Foreign Service officer to hold the latter post.

I'm very sorry to hear this about Sec. Eagleburger. I have great admiration for him and always enjoy his appearances on Fox. I most certainly will keep him in my prayers. Thank you for letting us know about his health problems.

God bless Secy Eagleberger during this time. I also admired his no-nonsense stance and his steadfastness. A great man indeed. Prayers up now, and as long as they are needed.

I have also heard my feelings expressed by Secretary Eagleburger on FOX, many times. He is among the ones that I listen to and find reasonable and on the right side of issues.
