It's time for your regular Hollywood update in which people who earn and lose and gross hundreds of millions of dollars figure out ways to trash America, democracy and freedom....
Yes, well, God forbid anyone should question the motives of the terrorists.
Not while Hollywood is so busy questioning the motives of the United States....
The actress Maggie Gyllenhaal... believed America was in "some way responsible" for the 9/11 attacks. She said this during interviews for a film she made called "The Great New Wonderful," which dealt with 9/11.
Her shocking views were certainly less shocking to those who know that Gyllenhaal is the daughter of a screenwriter named Naomi Foner. In 1988, Foner wrote a film called "Running on Empty" that basically lionized and celebrated America's own wanna-be al Qaeda organization, the Weather Underground.
Naomi Foner is the sister of Eric Foner, a professor at Columbia who sees the 9/11 attacks as an opportunity for the United States to broaden its own self-criticisms: "In the wake of 9/11," he has written, "it is all the more imperative that the history we teach must be a candid appraisal of our own society's strengths and weaknesses, not simply an exercise in self-celebration a conversation with the entire world, not a complacent dialogue with ourselves."...
Now Jane Fonda, who was very funny playing a monster in "Monster-in-Law," has decided to return to her real-life role as a monster. She begins an anti-war bus tour real soon. "I have not taken a stand on any war since Vietnam," Fonda says. "I carry a lot of baggage from that."
Considering that she spent some time this spring sorta kinda apologizing for her appalling conduct during that war, you'd think she might show a little modesty now....

Definitely a good plan to rescue Hollywood from the quick sand it has itself mired in. *Glug... glug*. Keep struggling to free yourself, that always helps. And keep the cameras rolling. I love a good horror story that has a happy ending.
"actress Maggie Gyllenhaal"
WHO?????
I have a feeling she won't be so well-received this time around. I hope she's ready.
Bingo. I always looked at Running on Empty the same way.But the left I am sure loves to look at it as a martyr movie for their generation.
I googled her image. She looks like Katie Couric's little sister. Figures. Except I think Katie Couric is cute and perky. Did I mention that I'm a gastroenterologist?
What a bunch of dumbasses
One thing the Muslims hate is American Style Hollywood Decadence
They will be at the top of the hit list
I think I may have need of your services.
Correct. Analysts are claiming it is because of DVD, Video and piracy, but these things have been around for a long time and Hollywood always made a killing. Why suddenly, over the last few years have the Box Office numbers dropped? It's because of people who are tired of the anti-American antics of the "stars". True, this is not the ONLY factor, but think it is much larger than they are admitting.
I'm the same way. I couldn't tell you the last movie I saw in a theater, it's probably been 4+ years. EVERYTHING new is re-made crap or un-original left-wing attacks.
Did "The Great New Wonderful" even recoup its production costs at the box office? It sure didn't seem to be around too long.
And .. at it's root .. the drug culture.
Ya got me. It seems like the more they bash our president and troops, the more of us decide not to watch their movies, etc. Doesn't make much sense, does it?
The only movie I'm going to go see between now and Christmas will be The Great Raid. Based on a true story from WW2, it is set in the Philippines toward the end of the war. A company of Rangers is sent far behind enemy lines to liberate a POW camp from under the noses of several thousand Japanese soldiers. Until Jessica Lynch was rescued two years ago, this was the last successful rescue of American POW's from behind enemy lines. The previews look excellent and the reviews are highly favorable, I just hope the movie lives up to expectations.
"I have not taken a stand on any war since Vietnam," Fonda says. "I carry a lot of baggage from that."
Someone explain to me how this woman is not afraid to do this tour considering all the monsters (Kerry's quote) THE NAM war created, not to mention all the phsycos either. Isn't she afraid they may take out her bus.
It's like the liberals and the London terrorists. They blow up something and the libs want to surrender, however they didn't follow their own logic when that guy blew up an abortion clinic back some time ago. They didn't want to surrender and close all the abortion clinics.
They only want to fight when it is against this country.
"If we don't give them any attention maybe they'll shut up. "
More like, if we don't give them any money maybe they will shut up. They are the most Capitlist of all Capitalists.
Never let the facts get between you and kicking around a good straw man.
when I see these reality shows I want to join the Taliban. you are right, the reason they want to kill us is partially because of the "importance" we give to the asses and these shows. Does anyone remember the book that was coming out that was so important that the news in california made it their lead story on 9/10/ ???
