Actually as I understand it, although I was not well informed at the time I admit, we were willing to use nukes for simply invading. We had a pre-emptive policy back in the Cold War.
If we were nuked, then our response would have been even more severe.

They are required to show a zealous loyalty to the interests of the United States, which includes warning their co-religionists, "if you keep bombing the West, they will bomb our shared holy sites in retaliation. Tancredo is precisely the sort of fellow the MSM loves to quote as "representative" of conservatism. He says stupid things loudly. Sort of a modern day Archie Bunker.

His net effect is to make the posititions he supports look like the province of whackjobs. Thus border control looks sketchy, because Tom Tancredo is for it.

Just because someone may think Tancredo was not being smart politically when he mentioned nuking Mecca which is the holy site for not only Arabs but a billion people in this world...it does not make them stupid.

You are using liberal tactics to dispute those who think Tancredo made a political blunder. The opposition will peg this man as a "short temper with access to the button" maybe you or I may support turning Saudi Arabia into glass but to say something like that in the political arena makes me think twice about supporting him as a possible candidate against a democrat in a presidential election.

HADITH Sunan Abu Dawud [14:2526] Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.
