Freeper Chapita Has Passed Away

I just received an email from Chapita sister saying he is in the hospital end stage renal failure.

He is not expected to make it through the week. I wanted to share this sad news with all his e-mail buddies. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. Thank you.

Chapita is one of the few Mississippi buddies that can remember and personally relate to what happened to us here in Alcorn County and McNairy County during the '60s. We had a lot of good discussions about the Dixie Mafia, Buford Pusser, and the night the black ex-Navy man down in NO went haywire and went on a killing spree to kill as many whites as he could. Chapita is a true soldier and patriot that I have enjoyed discussions with since I signed up at FR. I am saddened that he is so sick and the prognosis is so poor. It looks like Heaven is going to have a Freeper reunion when all of us get there...I'm thinking positive and praying for it. God Bless you Chapita.

We all know that Chapita’s last earth-bound years were not physically pleasant or easy ones. It seemed that each message I received from him held news of a new mini-stroke, etc. And yet his upbeat perspective was always an inspiration and a model of genuine faith at work in a weakened body.

Heavenly Father, we who are left behind thank you for the comforting knowledge that you have prepared a place for our dear friend … a place whose joy, beauty and glory are beyond anything that we can yet comprehend.

We ask that you would bless his family with the strength and comfort that only you can provide, as they begin facing their lives without his presence. Remind them gently, as they mourn, that a joy-filled reunion lies ahead, and that holding fast to the Savior’s promise will keep them strong and faithful in anticipation of that glorious day.

All of this we bring to you in His most precious name.
