Government Warns Hospitals of Terror Threat (LA/San Diego Area for September-October)

A Sacremento television station reports obtaining a memo warning the state's hospitals that they could be targets of terrorism.

KRCA Channel 3 said that the California Hospital Association reportedly issued a letter earlier this month to hospitals statewide warning of the threat.

The letter reportedly carries a warning from the Department of Homeland Security that Al Qaeda could be planning attacks on hospitals for September or October.

The government said that hospital employees should be on alert. Although the Los Angeles and San Diego areas are specifically mentioned, the warning went out to healthcare facilities across the nation.

The government memo also said that nuclear facilities and airports could also be targets.

There is only one hospital in the region that is in peril: Cedars-Sinai.

The rest are so loaded with Mexican nationals that no fear would be struck.
