Natalee Holloway and friends in Aruba 5/30/05
Aruba's Law Enforcement dropped the ball -- in my opinion, dropped it deliberately.
Every morning I wake up and hope that they'll find her -- one way or another. My heart aches for Beth -- I want her to be able to bring her little girl home.
I agree...
Jossy's family and Jossy himself may have a shady past - but I don't see Jossy trying to get someone convicted that is not guilty of something in this case. I don't see him trying to get Joran out of jail and I don't see Jossy trying to pin this on Deepak. I see him repeating what Joran said on June 13th (which is probably one more lie from Joran) and that Jossy's intent is to get under Deepak's skin by saying it over and over on public television. Either Deepak is just as guiltly as Joran (was with Joran the whole time that night) or Deepak knows something that could rap up this case quickly. (Joran told Deepak what he did).
Things have change greatly since Straaten (Joran's God-Father and best friend to PVDS) has retired or left the island. - This is the key to why things are moving along now.
I believe it came from a partial confession that Joran made.
Something bad happened, I buried her in the sand and I will take you to where I buried her - statement on June 11th.
Then later he changed it to Deepak raped and killed her, then buried her - statement on the 13th of June.
"I will take you to where I buried her" or it was "I will take you to where she is buried."

according to his statement to dutch tv, van der sloot took leave when it was apparent his boy was in deep trouble. he wanted to avoid appearance of conflict since he is an officer of justice. he may have a leave balance or may be entitled under his contract to receive pay until his appointment expires see appointment in early January 2006.
See this conflicts with what Rudy Croes has said.
PVDS failed as a judge in training and this was about a week or less before Natalee came up missing.

I found this over at websleuths.....
Yes, but I am not sure that meant the end of his career in Aruba? It looks like now they will not renew his appointment. I am not sure that was the case before?
Seems like Aruba opperates on the Peter Principlehe has been promoted to a level beyond his competence, and had an assured position there before this happened. But maybe not. All conjecture on my part. :o)
Did I read somewhere that he is no longer with the justice department?
Ping to save my place...
It was probably in that infamous sealed envelope brought into court--that never did get opened...(or something like that).
Well, it was perhaps a "pre-judge" position? Paralegal? Associate? Perhaps the move for government work was because his appointment would have to have periodic reassessment or renewal? Perhaps as a "judge in training" he was only elligible for the appointment for a certain amount of time? And he wanted something more permanent? More money? His career as a judge was going nowhere?
As I said before, I can only offer conjecture. Sorry!
Yes. He was at the court yesterday cleaning out his desk. However, though he no longer works there, he may be (this is speculation from Jossy Mansur) receiving income from the justice department until the end of his appointment.
PVDS's assignment is up January 1, 2006 according to Jossy Mansur. PVDS is still on the government payroll until then. He went yesterday and picked up and cleared everything out of his office.
This looks HOT!!!! - It sure looks VDS home is a rental
repeat of Jrabbits post...

I think the map is interesting, but the rental property stuff has me confused....
This sure looks the VDS home - do they own it or do they rent it? - http://www.greatrentals.com/aruba/4979.html
Does VDS own this rental right next to the Racquet Club?
http://www.greatrentals.com/aruba/4675.html
Take a look at this map...
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/2213/1338/400/curmap1.jpg
Here is all the homes this one person owns and has up for rent...
http://www.greatrentals.com/adminpublic/exb/multiple_prop_list.cfm?CST_ID=3083&SIT_ID=4675
One looks to be the VDS home and another is right next to the racquet club. Does VDS own these rentals? or does someone else? - If PVS owns all of them then did Joran have access to the home near the racquet club? - was it rented out when Natalee came up missing? or was it empty?
All these rentals may explain PVDS income if he owns them or is invested in them.
Nancy Grace reported last night that Joran has 22 versions of what happened.
Someone last night on SM joked that he has made up so many lies that he could teach at the Columbia School of Journalism, or work for CBS. :o)
